Anyways, i've come to a dilemma to what digital camera i should get for myself for christmas...Although i am somewhat educated in the field of cameras and work at one...i just would like my fellow member's advice...I have come down to the several of my choices for cameras...

1. Leica Digilux 1...1000CDN, 4Megp, 3x optical zoom, 'Leica' made
2. Panasonic FX7...600CDN, 5Megp,3x optical zoom, Image Stab., low end leica lens...
3. Canon Digi Rebel SLR w/ 17-85 Lens...1600CDN, 6.3 Megp, IS with the lens...

I just don't know what to get!? Mind helping me here!?

Okay, slightly "off" here, well not completely off though, but I'd like to know how much would a "Canon Digi Rebel SLR w/ 17-85 Lens...1600CDN, 6.3 Megp
", cost ?

wow, now leica digilux eh!? btw the d70 is a decent camera, but what i don't like about it is that when it comes to the depth of field view...you can't change the aperature!? what's with that!? the 300d/digi rebel's downside is that it has a plastic body and that's it...

What, you really can't change the aperture? It is automatic or fixed at a certain value? And if yes, wich one?

As for the Canon and it's plastic body.. well, when the only downside of a camera is the material used for the body, it means it is a damn good camera :D

true, my new a75 feels cheap, but takes better pictures than any on its class

well, you could change the aperature when your out of the depth of field view...its not very convenient especially when one is trying to take a picture of a care and trying to get as much background as possible...

My buddy just picked up the Nikon D70 - the best $900 he ever spent.

Got a 28-200 lens with it.

He settled on the D70 after comparing every sub $2000 camera and est driving a couple.

I played with it - fantastic.

About as close as you can get to a the feel of a high end film SLR in digital for under $3000.
