My vote goes to the new Rolls-Royce Phantom.

I'm all over the DB9 - I think that's the most georgous car that's come out in the past few years. Nearly flipped out when I saw one on the road a few days ago.

The Gallardo might be a close second - the straight lines and agressive corners blended into the comely, aerodynamic shape are a design-masterpiece. The Miura Corse body packages (aftermarket) add some nice styling to the Lambo line (esp. the Murcielago - it gives it "round" rear tail lights, for one).

The new AMV8 is something to look forward to as well.

these are without a doubt the best looking vehicles on the market at the moment. The Phantom deserves some recognition for its stately appearance, but it's too Germanic in its design influences. The Bentley Arnage is a better-looking more British car, so I'd rather have one of those in my drive.

Like somebody else mentioned, a lot of you may dislike the Scaglietti, but once you see it in the metal, you'll understand what it is. It really is a "gentleman's Ferrari". Its a car that doesn't need to show itself to the crowd, it simply sits quietly and confidently. It's not a sports car, it's a luxury GT... like a Quattroporte minus the rear doors. Its approach is very similar to the 550 when it was first released: a Ferrari that doesn't need to stick the middle finger up to be noticed, because it knows everybody is already looking anyway.

That said, when you see a Maserati Quattroporte in the metal, in its "nero black" guise, I can guarantee you that you will have never thought that you would be at a loss for words. Compared to all the other "big" cars out there (S-class,A8,7 series, Phaeton, Caddilac, etc.) it is trully work of art. If you've never associated the word "sex appeal" with a four door saloon, once you see a Quattroporte, you will.

The Rolls and Murcie top my list because they are simply the most beautiful things on the road. They don't even need to be moving, or making a noise... they don't even need to be switched on. All they have to do is sit quietly, parked, and anybody who walks by and catches a glimpse will say to himself: "Yep. That's a fucking special car."

I totally forgot the TVR Sagaris. aka, the "car designed by an ax murderer." IDC what other people think, but to me this car is very appealing. Entirely aggressive, totally unique yet heart'N'soul of a true TVR, outlandish and extreme without being gaudy or rice...and of course, some big performance under the hood to match. (now if we could only work on that whole reliability thing... :wink: )

And as for pure liquid blend of functionality and aesthetic design: Koenigesgg CC8S and CCR. Over-the-top without any nonsense. Beauty dictated by purpose. :!:

Errr, with all due respect to your friend, even though I dislike Autocar, EVO is terribly reliable when it comes to news. Asa far as the Brera is concerned the 2005 GTV/Spider r going to be just like the Brera.

The 8c Comp. is going to be a direct riveal of the Gallrdo and the F430. Whereas the GTA version of the GTV is going to be a direct rival of the 911S. With 400bhp, 4wd and the other thing-i dont know how it is called in English- where all the wheels turn, Its going to be the king of the category.

2. Range Rover - best looking SUV ever and one of the best interiors ever.
3. Maserati Quattroporte - best looking modern luxury limousine.

as far as i know, the Alfa 8C *IS* going to go into production. The 8C is going to be produced and will be priced in the range of the 911 according to what they know. Hence it will not compete with the Maserati.

In the UK, the Maserati IS priced against the 911, hence the fear of canibalizing the Maser's sales. Since we all have our own sources, I think I'll hold judgement until an actual (and official) announcement is made by Alfa Romeo.

BUT, that still doesn't change the fact that the 8C (nor the Brera, since somebody brought that up) isn't in showrooms at the moment, which means for all intents and purposes, it still doesn't actually exist as a production car. :)

Aston Martin Vanquish S or DB9....very elegant and classy, however, Lamborghini's current line is notable, very avantgarde and modern. But then again....I gotta give props to TVR (their entire line), very aggresive looking....they look almost organic or living and they make arguably the coolest and most unique-looking cockpits....using development budgets that are equal to some companies' advertising campaigns!!
