P-PLATE drivers will be banned from driving high-powered cars from next year in a New South Wales government crackdown on young drivers.

There has been a similar thing in Victoria for a while. P platers can't drive cars over 125kw per tonne or with an engine capacity over 3.5 litres per tonne. i hope to pick up a 252kw car in January.. If i drove from QLD, with a qld registered car, into nsw what would happen? Hell i drive a 2004 Berlina atm, which is 170kw... you can't get more standard than a commondore :roll:

They been talking about it for along time, but the recent deaths of afew P'Platers has accelerated this. Its not new in Oz thou, Victoria have had rules like this for afew year. I also heard they will be giving P'platers more advanced driver training which is good.
