Mclaren F1 LM for sale

Got a call today from Frank Selldorff(spelling) saying that he was selling the Lm. We arent really interested in the car considering its very impractical, not to mention the price tag :lol: I highly dought that anyone will pay 3.9 for it, if i had to put a price it would be 2-3. What do you think?

I'm going to start saving now, and hope no one buys it by the time i get enough money. I will also need some extra lifetimes, but it'll be worth it. And people are willing to pay 3.9million, Bill gates bought 3 959's just to get one of them in the country.

this car is gorgeous and indeed very rare but 3.9 is through the roof........i think the owner is just casting the thought out there to see if he gets lucky and someone bites.

I thought the going price was about $1 - 1.2 MM and that you had to buy it thru the factory who would re-do the seating position and such to your requirements. Guess not!

What I find funny is that the item is listed similar to a $10 part - refering to the "Add to the cart" button and "Shipping charges" - UPS ground, air second day, etc. :lol: :lol:

$3.9 actually seems very reasonable since it is essentially a super-limited edition version of what is at bare minimum one of the best cars in the world. the factory won't make complete conversions of an F1 to LM, they'll only do the suspension and aero packages (and other small stuff) but, with the exception of the F1 sold at Christie's, the LMs are the only McLarens with the unrestricted GTR engine.

plus, the value of these cars, especially the LMs, will only increase over time, so it is a good investment as well

To my knwoledge, this is only the second time a LM is on the market, this is very rare, even more than a Ferrari 250 GTO. I always wondered how much could a LM owner ask for his jewell, now I know :wink: And it doesn't surprise me, if I had the money I would buy it right now :D

ok yes house but not children..lol I dont think 3.9 is incredibly high..its high but considering an F1 was sold fairly recently for around 2 million..it dosnt seem that bad..but its still high

but the point is that if you have enough money to spare that much on a car then you already have all of those other cars..people who buy this car have more money than they know what to do with..so they spend that much on cars..

Its one of 3, he is still trying to sell chassi #007 and #067. The Lm i think is #3 of 5

You might have understood it through all the other posts, but the point is that this is not a McLaren F1, it's a McLaren F1 LM! I think they built 125 of the normal F1 but only 5 LMs. It has higher performance and is much more rare. Both contribute to the price. As for the re-adjustment at the factory when you buy it used, I don't know. Tiff said it in a review once, but I gues Frank chose to sell it through Turner instead of McLaren.

I dont remember what he said about how he came across the normal road cars, but i remember him saying that he was offered the Lm for a large sum of money and he had practically no time to think about it, either yes or no. Now my dads telling me that hes not even sure if he still wants to sell the car, i guess he doesnt want to get rid of it that quickly.

That's an OK price for a car which exists only in 5 original copies. How many of them are in the US BTW ??

Chassis #73, a hybrid F1 w/ certain LM components sold at Christies auction for $1.3 mil or so bout a year ago, just as a reference. $3.9 sounds really high, but what do i kno. Everyone values things differently, and this seller may very well be able to sell for 3.9 or more.

Beautiful car, (even though the link is dead and I couldn't see the actual thing, I'm picturing it in my head hehe). Too bad there are so few of them in existence. I'd want one over just about any other vehicle in the world.
