Cheating in Halo 2 @ Xbox live

so theres a really big issue about people cheating in live games in halo 2.
I have seen myself in this situation mostly in rumble pit games, when the connection starts to fail and i start dying cause of nothing, pretty weird, at the begining i though it was some minor issue that could happen, but now ive read more bout it and its people manipulating their connection and of course cheating.

Secondly, also me and my friends have found some cheap tactics people use to win. like hiding when in the lead in head to head games, hiding the bomb at unreachebale places in assault, or people stealing ur kills in rumble pit, and sometimes can get frustrating and irritating.
I really have enjoyed the game in campaing (the cliffhanger ending is IMO awesome) and in live, though this stuff that can make noobs defeat u (i consider myslef a really good halo and halo 2 player) makes me dislike it sometimes....

I'll be getting Live over the break for Halo 2, so I really hope bungie does something to keep this cheating to a minimum. I mean playing using cheap tactics like you mentioned is one thing, but straight up cheating using connectoin manipulation just plain sucks.

you just need to learn some strategies but don't get me wrong i hate cheating and noob weapens. Although I'm very good with an energy sword.

Strategies:

1)if two people are fighting shoot the predator and kill him before he kills the prey then kill the already weakened prey. Its not cheating because if the predator can't kill him by the time someone kills him he doesn't deserve the point.

2)If shooting the rocket launcher and forced to shoot close qauters(killing yourself) the best thing to do is to commit suicide and kill enemy.

3)Best duals:SMG-SMG, Human Pistol-Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol-SMG or Human Pistol.

4)Use grenades to deal with any threat of vehicles in your base.

5)Beaver Creek CTFandAssult Strategy:
1)get your best gun set in the closest range(the fastest would be the double SMG.
a)go to the bottom part of the base, take a left at split, after emerging on the side of the base head to back of the base, and on the left side of the back of the base you can get a SMG or a Plasma Pistol on the right side, Plasma pistol works better.
2)from the back of the base jump through the portal and ASAP go left and go around the right side of the bases corner.
3) from here you can jump on the base from a rock, when on the base go to the back of the base on the base to a window over their flag.
4)lets take this on as if we had the dual SMG-Plasma Pistol.
5)tap the button to shot the pistol so it will silently destroy the window and before jumping down hold down the plasma pistol trigger also check your radar and view if opposition is over whelming stake out until they leave or some, now jump down shoot off fully charged plasma pistol at enemy then smg to kill him then take their flag repeat step a,1,2,3,4,5, but w/o getting a gun and if opposition is found on the way use melee with the flag to kill enemies(two hit kill, one if you hit in the back).
6)once you jump down touch your flag.
7)If assult do steps a,1,2,3,4,5, but while killing opposition in base with bomb or escort someone with the bomb and use the dual to kill peeps in base. then bomb base when in.
WARNING:while doing this strategy make sure the rest of your team protects your base and someone come to escort you.

yea the SMG-Plasma pistol combo is deadly with the charge up shot. taking down someone who has an overshield just feels so rewarding. SMG-Magnums is a sweet medium range combo, esp since a lot of players don't realize you're popping them in the head w/ the magnum because of the smg spray. not a big fan of dual smgs tho... only useful at close range. much rather have a shotgun

That connection cheat works by them pressing the standby button on their modems. From what I've read, it only works when they are the host. If anyone does it to you, just report them, if they get too many cheating reports, they'll be banned from Live. (Microsoft can ban individual Xbox's, so they would have to buy a new one to get back on Live)

Have you guys seen the sword lunge trick?
Take something like the rocket launcher and aim at someone, when the reticule turns red, switch to the sword and pull the right trigger right away. It's tricky to get it to work, but once you do, you'll find that you can zoom across huge distances in a flash and stab someone.

Cheaters suck, I also hate spawn campers!!!
