Considerig y'all bitched about the last night time video being too dark and I just wanted to get home after a long day (I drove there yesterday morning in 3 hours) I didn't bother hooking up the camera for this trip.. :P
I just wish there were no cops in the daytime so that I could go there and back in a total of 3 hours...

dud thats insane, not only the speed, but the concentration required to maintain that speed safley!!
nice effort, if i sped like that at nite, it would be useless because i would be kept awake all night from the adrenaline..
btw RC45 - how's the bike going, bet that sould get you home faster.

165km/h average speed is really quite impressive
but the concentration required to maintain that speed safley!!
Lol... you should live here in Portugal.... eheh
I have a neighbour of mine, that from Lisboa to Coimbra (2 cities in here, 180km one from another) made an average of 210km/h in a BMW 325TDS... at least acording to the Board Computer.
Yes... I was in the car... it was the worst trip I ever made... :((((

But RC45 time is still impressive ;)
I was impressed when me and some friends avarages 100 mph on our drive from the EuroTunnel in Folkestone, UK to somewhere in the countryside in York, UK (about 275 miles).

Typical "small minded" Euro answer.
Do you have any idea of what 186 miles of open road is?
Not 186 miles jumping through 10 towns.. but 2 hours of 100mph+ cross country dash... :)
Considering you will slow to about 75/80 when you pass people, you would of need to be toping 145/150 for 2 or 3 mile stretches - and then a couple blasts to 160+ for a few miles at a time.
I am guessing you've never driven a single high speed leg in youlife longer than 20 miles in total. :)
That would be 20 miles of open road -- ;) You know - open road - oops my bad... your idea of open road is a fenced in 4 lane road that connects 2 village 6 miles apart... http://www.z06vette.com/fcalmes/rofl.gif

Sorry to interupt your little tĂȘte-Ă*-tĂȘte guys, but i missed this topic LOL IMO that was some going to average that speed!! I could never dream of doing that here and not just due to the fact that my car won't do more than 90MPH  You always have to slow down so much here...... roundabouts, speed cameras..... idiots who sit a 70MPH in the middle/ outside lane  etc etc you have to have pretty empty and straight roads to get that kind of average... takes me probably 4+ hours to do the 200 odd mile journey home

Well - for those interested in the details of the drive... here is a mapquest link to the approximate halfway point...

Just zoom out and then scroll along the road to see that its by no means a arrow straight road - but then again even the famed autobahns are not all looking like the Nurburging.

The curves in the Autobahn were designed to be taken flat out. Only problem, when it was designed, flat out was just under 100mph! LOL History Channel had an excellent show all about the Autobahn a while back. Showed a Ruf doing 200+ MPH as well.
You had to be moving at a good amount of speed to go that far that fast. Especially with slowing down when passing cars. Safety first! Plus, they might call the cops.

1 hour 48 minutes = 1 + 48/60 = 1,8 hours
186 miles divided by 1,8 hours = 103 mph
