The BMW 645i With G-Power Modifications

The G-Power G6 5.0 engine catapults the new six-series in M-Format from G-Power on basis of the new BMW 645i into the highest performance category of its class. With 420 bhp and a maximum torque of 399 lb-ft, the modified luxury liner accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in only 4.8 seconds and can reach speeds as fast as 177 mph.

The G-Power’s cubic capacity has been expanded to 5.0 litres with a new handcrafted crankshaft, modified engine block, several bores and forged pistons and is amounting to 33,000 € (approx. $42,000). Of course this package includes a modified engine-control system to ensure a perfectly smooth performance. Additionally, the G-Power stainless steel high performance exhaust system comes with the dynamic-pressure-reduced G-Power Drainless System, together with metal catalytic converters and stainless steel high-performance headers. The newly developed system is available for all engines with either a four- or two-pipe system. The electronic 155 mph speed limit is released by online programming.

G-Power sets a milestone in its 20-year history with the new aerodynamic design line HIGHLINE. This new product series was designed by the G-Power team in cooperation with automotive designers. Particular attention was devoted to emphasizing the BMW’s sporty lines without appearing too ostentatious. The aerodynamic elements provide the BMW models with a sporty design, and the dimensions are identical to the series parts.

The elegant design was verified with a wind-tunnel test run in January 2004. With G-Power’s aerodynamic package, the ascending force can be reduced at high speeds by approximately 45 lbs on the front axle and by approximately 50 lbs on the rear axle, depending on the chosen equipment. Especially for the G-Power supercharged engines, the fresh-air intake at the front of the car was increased, and the motor oil temperature was lowered by 3-5 degrees. The automotive designers developed the new Highline edge lines for the boot door in order to round off the overall visual image and give the new BMW design a harmonious finish.

The G-Power G6 Highline aerodynamic package is available as a complete set for 9,600 € (approx. $12,500) and includes the front bumper, carbon insets on the front, side skirts, rear bumper, carbon insets in the rear and the boot rack. All aerodynamic parts were reinforced by carbon/kevlar.

In connection with the new motorization, G-Power delivers Styling III PRO aluminium wheels (9.0 x 22 inches on the front axle and 10.5 x 22 inches on the rear axle). The three-piece 15-spoke rims with a high-finish stainless steel outer base are made of forged aluminium and are available in 20, 21 or 22 inches for all BMW models. Concerning the size of the tire set, 245/30 ZR 20 size was selected for the front axle and 295/25 ZR 20 for the rear axle. The price for the complete wheel set is amounting to 11,800 € (approx. $15,000).

If you drive fast you need to be able to stop quickly, too. Therefore, G-Power’s G6 is fitted with the tried and tested high performance braking system G-Power S 85, with a diameter of 385 mm and six pistons on the front axle. For the rear axle, G-Power offers the S 55 six-piston system with a width of 355 mm.

For an improved comfort, the chassis was progressively lowered by 1 inch on the front axle and 0,8 inches on the rear axle.

To refine the interior, G-Power offers exclusive accessories as aluminium pedals with sporty footrest, a sporty carbon interior to be chosen in black or white colour, and high-quality G-Power Kjerba Walknappa leather equipment. The G-Power leather fittings, which are crafted with the highest quality of workmanship can be delivered custom-made in any colour combination.

I'm separated between it and the Schnitzer one. Also the Hamann version is quite good

Seems rather expensive to have for such a small performance gain. That said, the car does looks very attractive. Like the idea of twin foglights.

I'de wait for a Schnitzer to tune the M6 and see how the final product would turn out. That would be sick!!
