Some nice videos of one of very few nice VW's. It was mainly about the Corrado vs. F355 video IMO

Great find, surprised on the handling of the car. Weird watching a porsche and skyline getting passed by a corrado, that was good to watch.

The videos were new to me. The speed of the car didn't surprise me, since I have tracked my '94 plenty of times. My mods are limited to suspension (konis with sport springs, track tires, Ferrodo DS2500 pads, tt exhaust and chip).
At the track days which I attended, I normally beat any E46 M3 which shows up (normally they're running street tires though). In fact, about a month a go at Shannonville (near Toronto, Canada), I passed a new 996 (i.e. 320 hp) on the Long Circuit - he came by in the pits afterwards to see what was up with my car. I usually lap a little faster than a well driven 350Z with the brembos, etc.
You might make the usual driver conclusion. However, I have not attended any race driver training courses yet, and I'm far from being smooth. Although (knock on wood) I haven't had any 'offs' yet. I have done about 10 track days so far.
Regarding the earlier comment from Ronin005 about the 'unworthiness' of the VR6 engine. Smoke another one. I could point to countless mag reviews which have lauded the performance characteristics of the VR6 engine. Just consider the derivatives:
W8 (ok, this was discontinued)
W12 (Bentley GT - turbo, Phaeton, A8, Touareg)
W16 quad turbo in forthcoming Bugatti Veyron - you know, the $1 million car that is supposed to exceed 250 mph - yes, I know that it has been delayed :-<
Then there is the direct VR6 derivatives and applications:
2.8 12V was used in the Ford Galaxy (yeah, whoopi!) and the Mercedes V-class van
and there was a Chrysler PT Cruiser mule with one installed at Auburn Hills...
3.2 24V VR6 (R32, Touareg, Phaeton, Porsche Cayenne, A3, TT)
In fact, the VR6 engine remains the only common engine between the Cayenne and Touareg.
...and not a 'great life length'. Ask Gunther Schmidt. He was probably the first guy in North America to competitively race the VR6, back in '92. He supercharged it later on as well. He told me the durability of the engine was exceptional. He ran several 24 hr races with it back then. He took it apart at the end of his first season, and found that he didn't actually need to replace anything...
