I would call this a DTM M5 instead, just because of the fender flares. I think it looks good but don't see BMW ever doing it.

Will BMW actualy make a M5 CSL?....It would be good, if they go along the lines as the 2003 M3 CSL it should be amazing. I personaly think it wont happen. The m5 may be meant to be sporty but not to the level of stripping it out to its bare bones. More likely that the new 3 series M3 will get the CLS badge in like 2006 or 7

i think it seems to be a bit big for a csl car? think of sizes. it can not be csl car. a csl version fits to a 3 series or a carrera but to a big salon car? i have some doubts

Ok...what is with you guys? How is this rice? It has fender flares...ok...its a serious car with serious power, and if BMW actually made an M5 CSL it would probably have another 30-50hp over stock, and around 150kg less weight. Considering that the standard M5 is not a slow car, this would make it very fast. So I ask again, how is this rice? I don't see any stickers...giant fart pipes...or even wings. So stfu about it being rice because it has fender flares...reserve the use of that word for cars that deserve it.

Also, all you guys who think this is crappy PS job, why don't you fire-up PS and make something that looks better? Personally I think that is a pretty good job, and I think it looks badass. 8)

CSL does not mean more power. it means Coupe, Sports and Lightweight
lightweight is everything. do not think it as more power.

Is Ricer an American term or something?...In Britain we just call things crap realy, dont bother refering cars etc to a form of food which has sustained many countries for countless years and through poverty. Without rice kiss goodbye to your local chinese and/or indian.Should be a good thing be called a "ricer" :mrgreen: It think its a good PS and a good looking car but it wont happen!

Rice is just a car that has something (or many things) that doesn't belong there and doesn't serve any purpose, except for looks. I.e. a giant wing on a Civic...the car can't even go fast enough for it to have any effect, or tons of stickers for NOS and K&N on the side....

Rice really refers to a specific kind of crap, and it doesn't matter where the car came from, it can be American, Japanese, European... Basically a car that is all show and no go is rice...although some fast cars have stupid shit tacked on for no reason and they also fall into the category.

now i understand!.....their are great examples round where i live. A crappy Vauxhall Nova with a "Kenwood" sticker on the back window!...dont they make cookers?... :lol: Why not have "Tefal" "hotpoint" on while your at it. I dont think any official companies make ricer cars. I mean like AMG for mercedes the M sector for BMW...etc...However i do think most of the cars published in magazines like max power or crap on wheels and the fast and the furious films make me cry..how did it make it to hollywood!!!...granted i did go through this phase of likeing these sorts of cars but now my view is, if a car needs that many modifications to (arguablely) make it better, it isnt worth doing!

Kenwood just incase you wern't joking make audio and hi-fi equiptment primarily.

We probably won't see a stripped down M5 simply cause it wouldn't be practical. A race car such as an M3 CSL is stripped and built for the track and probabbly too harsh for everyday driving let alone having passengers. And IF BMW ever did make a stripped down version it wouldn't be called a CSL as the C stands for coupe as has been mentioned above.
