No pics, I was not prepared and anyway I dont have camera 8)
I needed to take car from service and as it is a bit on the out from the city, they arrange a car every hour to pick customers near the metro station. And always its some kind of Opel, mostly Vectra. But this time they just have started selling Alfas and it was Alfa GT!!! :P
I am not a big fan of GT, but hey, free ride is free ride! The sound of the car is great(it was some diesel :? ) anatomic seats, pretty good acceleration mmmmmmm..... to bad I coulndt drive it 8)

I have heard they are pretty fun cars, but for the price they could be faster. What was your take on it?

Oh shut up. You do not understand Alfas. BTW: A Diesel should not have a place under the bonnet of an Alfa. I love the looks of the GT BTW. 8)

100% agree. A diesel Alfa is an half Alfa!!! But that's a sacrifice that enable to make difference between alfist and others and allow the brand live :D

As some of you probably know, I had it for a test drive last week. The disesel version, and it's not half bad.
(You can check the pics in the what I saw today section)
The engine pulls nice between 2000 and 3200 ,maybe 3500 rpm.
I love Alfas. Beautifull cars.

Precisely. Diesels account for over half the market now, (if memory serves), so for Alfa to survive (as we know it), it has to make some concessions to market demands.
JTD diesels are pretty good...but the built quality is not that good

I didn't says Diesel are not fast because they are fast... A friend from the south-west
France Alfa club, told me during a session on the local track, he made some laps with
his 147 2.0 TS and got big difficulties with a guy running with a 147 JTD, on slow
curve he can't do anything...
So the reason why I don't love diesel is because of Twin Spark, does anyone have a
session with it, it's unforgetable, yes it doesn't push that hard but the sound is faboulous
and I think like boxer was and past engine that's part of an Alfa. 8)
i get it...passion wise, diesels are not bound to match petrol engines ever

Why would an Alfa be GM-anised? GM doesn't own the Fiat Auto group or doesn't own Alfa Romeo. The only current connection between them is Alfa selling their JTD engines to GM Europe, the next generation Fiat Punto and Opel Corsa will share the same chassis, and GM has 10% stocks in Fiat Auto.

I was just asking how it felt, Alfa feel doesn't neccessarily mean interior and seats Alfas are drivers cars, most of their engines now like you said the JTS as its known here are GM's. Sure Alfa tune them and all but it's still not theirs and i asked if it felt (drove) as an Alfa SHOULD.
