Welcome to the thread dedicated to all the Bling'd and Riced BMW and Mercedes that I encounter during my day as a service tech on the German side of a small dealership.

A rating will be given to each example. For now it will just be 1-10,
with 10 being a Galactic Attention Whore.



the first candidate is this "///M" 540i

it looks like he has the ///M exhaust, but really it's just the tips that are welded to the stock 540 exahust about 2 feet before the tips

and now for the 20in rims...which he has held on wtih aftermarket locking lugbolts...but lost the key :roll: the wheels are so big that we can't perform the strut bracket recall on the car because the bracket would cut into the tires.

not pictured in these, is his DVD player that he keeps in the back of the passenger seat and is hooked up to the flip down screen situated between the front seats, which i believe ends up blocking the rearview mirror. He has an aftermarket stereo, which created a cluster-fuck of wires behind it (that i had to dig through to figure out why his turn signals weren't displaying in the dash), and a single 10 inch subwoofer in the trunk.

overall, i'll give him an Attention Whore rating of 6. The only thing that saved him from getting a 7 is the fact that the car has the power to back up the exhaust note. No, i take that back. he gets a 6.25 because the car is also an automatic.

the only thing i could see on this car was the 20in "chrome" rims. Which is th most common thing i see on Mercedes. It doesn't seem to be enough of a cry for attention by just buying the Mercedes, NO they have to Bling-it-out.

Because of the fact that this is a Mercedes, they get a minimum A.W. rating of 2. add the rims and they are up to 3.5

The E39 M5 was only available with a manual. Every M-fan will know it's a fake even faster, cause a M5 doesn't have a M-badge and a 540i-bagde on its boot :)

after i figured out his turn signal issue something happened with his dvd audio system and none of the sound was working. he tried to blame me but since nothing is BMW approved it was explained to him that anything wrong with the system isn't my problem :lol:

if any of you have seen the V-tec Mustang video that was posted about a month or two ago, that's pretty much the way we poke fun at him in the shop :lol:

I dont know if this is common in other countries, but here BMW sell M packages on your bog stock 3series or 5series, M bodykit and badges. Sure it produces a laugh but its sold from the dealers with the M.

Anyway I like the size of the brakes with the 20's haha.

to a certain point that is true here. BMW offers a sport package which gives you an M suspension and steering wheel but no M badges of body kits. the only way to tell these cars apart is to have them side by side since the Sport Package has a lower ride height.

One of the best post in a long time..... The M-badge is a classic in bad taste.... There is a lot of cars out there that have been trashed.... One of my dads costumors have a E39 M5 bumper on a E34. Looks horrible. I will try to get a pic...

OK..they own a BMW. Automatic 3. it's a convertible. add 1. and the flashy wheels add 2. (yes only 2, they aren't oversized..just chrome)

Folks, we haven't had a 10 yet, and we dont' have one here, but we;re getting close, but if he springs the extra 3grand for the spinning adapters (3K USD per wheel) he will be elevated :wink:

Lets see here...he gets a 70-$80K vehicle (6), has a baby whose mother has an ass almost as good as the one posted the other day (sorry, missed my chance to grab a snaphot of it. But if she shows up to get the car tomorrow, we'll see what i can do :D )(1) and spent $16,000 in jewlery for a car that didn't need any to begin with(1.6) :roll:

one thing that is a bit tedious about updating this thread is constantly changing the title of it to include the update alert so that it shows up on the new posts list.

is there a better way than going to the first post->edit post-> change thread title->submit, then post reply-> add the update->submit

Is that the only way to do that?

the other thing is trying to find this thread when updates are few and far between, so having it Stickyd would help alot. :D

In coming to update the thread again i realised i forgot to give this retard his rating:

He has a shitty Ford (anal)Probe with a body kit and T-A-C-K-Y lights on the front.
Now, the car itself doesnt get him any points, but the fact that he is trying (and miserably failing) to make the car look attractive, nets him a 5.

Add his Haggard-ass "flame" seat covers (not sure if they're visible in the pic) for 1, and the body panel rattling sound system for 1.5 and he gets his 7.5..TRAVELING Planetary Attention Whore :P

I saw a 540is running around with M5 rims and ///M5 badge a couple days ago. Only gievaways that it wasn't in M5 was 1) the exahust...or lack thereof, and 2) the trunk was spoilerless. (i came up on it on the thruway while he was stopped at the light) I'm still hunting that one down 8)

well, well, well...5 months go by and nothing, and now today i get a Ferret Faced E36.

Note the Dale Earnhardt sticker and front decorative license plate, along with the shit rims and limo tint windows. To top it all off he lowered the front so much that to get it on the lift we have to jack up one corner of the car, slide the lift arm under it, drop it down, jack up another corner, slide the other arm under it and lower that corner and repeat the process on the other side :roll:

i'm thinking he deserves a 6...maybe a 7 considering the angel eye headlight retrofits....

This next couple of shots is of a right front strut out of a 545i. I dont' know WTF he hit, but it smashed up both right side rims, tore up the right rear tire pretty bad and took a chunk out of the right rear.

there were 2 complaints on the ticket that pointed to this:

oil leak from engine area and vehicle roams on road. Surprisingly the 2nd one wasn't due to the Dunlop SP Sport tires that have been problems on the E60's since day one.

the right front strut cracked in half causing all the oil to blow out of it. there's only about 1.5-2 inches of aluminum remaining before it completely comes apart.

What's wrong w/ the Dunlop SP tires? 9000's Series?

i think it's the 8000 series. They were causing inexplicable pulling and heavy heavy wear on the inside shoulders. We would see cords after only 5-10K miles. BMW warrantied all the tires and we replaced them with Continental ContiSports or Michelin Pilots.

For some reason this guy wanted another set of Dunlops :bah: he's at 31,927 miles, and the fronts are already making a viscous noise in turns. I still need to align the front end, but our alignment rack is fucked up right now and this car having AFS, means i need our diagnostic computer to be able to correctly do it and the diagnostic head didn't want to connect to the GT1 :? so atm there is no way to tell if it's the alignment causing the noise, but i have a feeling it might be.

the interior is somehing to behold..it looks like woven leather in the seats and door panels, of course color matched to the exterior :roll:
