A new Kyiv-Oddesa highway opened in Ukraine. Build by Ukrainians along with Italians the new highway will have a speed limit of 200km/h apart from few parts of the highway with a limit of 160km/h. :D The highway is around 500km long.

For you Yanks and Brits thats 125mph.

hm havent you read the forum lately? There is some consideration of limiting the speedos to 120 or something in Australia.

Don't talk about the Australian government and speed because it enrages me everytime i hear it. the governments are so stupid when it comes to speed in Australia.

Yeah it gets me f**king angry too. At least we dont have it as bad as the uk, where speed cameras are multiplying like rabbits.

They think the answer to accidents on the roads is always speed. If they spent more money on the roads they could reduce the accidents. Look in Europe on the Autobahns with no speed limit. I doubt they have as many accidents as us, becasue they have multiple lanes.

what we need is driver training and fix up our roads. oh don't say the govenments need money, the bastards have lots of it. do you have any idea how easy it it to gain a license? all you have to do is drive straight, occasional left and right turns, one reverse parking and 3 point turn and bam...your laughing as a licensed driver.

just read an article that ford was too scared to print performance figres in their ads because another group complained it would break advertsing rules. fucking numbnuts.

anyways back to the point...damn ukranians :P however we do have northern territory...no speed limits. but that means most of us need to drive many kilometres to get there. and i mean many! i think cho would be furthest away

Oh boy, there are bound to be some spectacular accidents on that highway.
I wonder if most people will be able to handle those speeds, or be attentive enough to those driving those speeds....

should be interesting

man id love the speed limit to be 125mph here.as it stands now at 70mph.which is a little slow really.i never see anyone doin that speed, maybe in the slow first lane, they do 70mph but in the 3rd lane (fast lane) not meaning to but if you go in that lane i gurantee you wont do less than 85-90mph,thats not aiming to do that, just everyone on the motorway feels comfortable and finds themselves without knowing just cruising at 85-90mph,and the traffic flows better at that speed

Damn...Poland is still far back. We only have about 200km's of motorways and they are often being mended, so even the top speed of 130km/h is frequently unreachable. But with the money from EU this may change soon. 200km/h...damn...I'd like to see a 200km/h sign-post :D:D:D

Of course they won't be able to handle those speeds, because they're inferior people. Only zie perfect Germans can handle high speeds.

Congrats to Ukraine. I've never actually been there, but it surprises me to hear you built a nice highway like that. From my knowledge, Ukraine is in a shit hole from an economical point of view.

This has nothing to do with Germans. Obviously you have a slight inferior complex towards germans, or why else would you suggest that?
How ever you can tell on a German highway that a lot of people are not used to driving on highways with no speed limits. This applies to foreigners (dutch driving in the middle lane) as to a certain percentage of Germans.
I just imagine that in the Ukraine you have cars which are by western standards unsafe, (slow, old, rust buckets) and then you will have super rich people, with their MB´s, Porsche CAyenne etc. I promise you this will cause conflicts on the highway. Since you will have people driving very slow, and some driving very fast.

The main problems on highways is not the actual velocity. It is the difference is velocity. The greater this difference the greater the probability for accidents.

That's a better explanation. Next time please do explain yourself. Otherwise you might come out looking racist (like you did with the first post). I have no inferiority complex to anyone, because I am better than everyone. Drive safe, eh!

I think that part of the problem (as sm@ck touched on briefly) is granting licenses to foreigners who dont know the local road rules (i.e. international licences). For instance, a friend of mine went to germany and drove 250km/h on the autobahn, and yet this guy cant drive for s**t. Likewise, people from other countries get permission to drive here, with no testing, and they dont know the rules. Its so dangerous and yet it is legal

Far from a shit hole mate. There is plenty of money there  Except the regular citizens get 0.1% of the money that the crooks in the government hold. But it depends on the region. Certain system admins etc in Kyiv have as much as 2000$ US a month which is A LOT of money back there.

And as for shit cars in Ukraine, there still are a lot of them but people are getting new cars all the time anyway...you see less and less old ladas on the streets.

Dont think that people live that bad there. THe ones who cant make money localy work in western europe and then come back home. Things changed in Ukraine quite a lot in the past 5 years or so. And they are not as poor as they appear to be.

Wow ! 200Km/h maximun legal speed.

I dream to be able to drive legally this speed on our motorways.
By then, the V1 radar is necessary.

learn how to quote.... You make it look as if I wrote that Ukraine is a shithole, from an economic point of view....
