an M3 modified up to 990 bhp???????

a friend of my friend of my friend called mert (a bit complex :)) has this m3. he claim s that it is tuned to 990 bhp. it has chasing videos with a f360(it is also tuned) a vid with porsche turbo and a lamborghini :) and; he beated all of them. only lamborghini went side by side with it only but he beated the rest of them. they are editing the video section now. i have the videos. if you can tell me a place where i can upload them i can share them as well

up to which level can it show the power of the car? moreover a formulaone car can not resist that much power although its hi-tech nature. a normal m3 engine can really produce that much power?

Well a dyno will show exactly how many HP it has, period :)

Was the Lambo stock???If so and it ran side by side with this 990hp M3 then obviously the M3 aint making 990hp in that run...990hp would destroy an Enzo/F1 much less a Lambo...Im very interested in seeing the vid but more importantly the dyno chart..

990 bhp on a M3 sounds too much for me and even if the car has this amount of power the engine will go to hell after a few thousands kilometers/miles.

Depends on which M3...Ive seen a few e36 with close to that hp...One was a white one that ran low 10's owned by an Asian guy...And the other was a local kid....The e36 engines seem to handle it well. Of course they are built to shit...Also its not like you run around all the time on full boost..So the engine will last as long as you dont abuse it..

Well a dyno will show exactly how many HP it has, period :)

what is the limit of dyno? 500 ps, 600 ps, 700 ps? up to which level can it show

Well we already saw 1000+ hp Skylines or such dynoed, so don't worry it is possibly to find out the power output

yes it was but the news where i read is a bit not updated. when the first vids came out (challenging with a f360) it was producing more or less that much power. today they are claiming that it reached to 990. maybe it can pass the veyron 8)

ok, i just watched both videos again, m3 vs f360 and diablo. It says at the beginning that the supercharged m3 had 415hp. The m3 barely beats the 360, like by a nose. The diablo on the other hand, it did not seem like it was trying, there is no way a 415hp would beat a diablo.

So no, this m3 does not have 990hp or 550hp for that matter, lol.

i don't buy it at all.

the transmission/drivetrain have hardly been modified on that car. I'd estimate 400-500 roughly.....and EVEN if it does have more, at the wheel, it would only have 300-400hp..which is alot, but NOT 990.

the fact that he doesn't show a Dyno of it, is proof that either he's lying or just doesn't wanna do a Dyno to prove his HP numbers.

Good points.. and indeed, an M3 to handle 1000 hp will need such a reworking that it would be barely an M3 shell :D

u must remember this....y have they not chosen 2 upgrade the transmission??? or the colling system??? surely running such a high HP with a standard gearbox can be considered suicide....and i'm suprised that they have not upgraded the cooling system....and even if u have so much BHP...can the chassis handle it?? y has there been no effort made 2 strengthen the chassis??? these are my doubts...

I've seen those videos long time ago. That's a pretty good car. Well tuned, even more if it is an E36.

oh i'm sure they upgraded the tranny and cooling system...anyone competent enough to jack an M3 up to 900+hp would do replace/reenforce/upgrade the tranny and cooling system. Same with stiffening the chassis. They must have done all of this but just not listed it on that site. All they wanted to say on that specific page was stuff related to how the car got as much power as it has.

hmmm i doubt the figures too. Not sure about the E36 block but the E46 engine was very highly tuned and BMW's M division couldnt get any more power from it without making it very unreliable which is why they have a V8 in the new M3.

I agree with the rough 500hp figure being the max for a stock M3, no way is it producing +900hp.

I don't think it even comes close to 900 hp. From what I've heard it's pushing around 550 hp...which is still too much for an M3 engine. However, I have once seen a dyno sheet of an E30 M3 pushing 800+ hp, but that had a turbocharged M5 engine. :shock:

Yeah and thats a V8..with 400 bhp stock..that is possible..but not with a reg M3 engine ..no way would that get close to 900hp

It has all the right parts to make the kind of power they are claiming. It would all be up to the tuning however to make sure that it doesnt blow. I've seen alot of guys in BC, canada with skylines and supras that should be making over 750 hp, but had horribly tuned systems that ran like crap and blew up after 4 runs.

first, the videos are shoot when the car is anounced ~415-450hp...
Then it's raised to 700hp..

Later the charger changed and the firm anounced it as 900+hp...



Unfortunately in turkey. there's no Dyno for over ~500hp :(

The producer doesnt give much information about the calculating process...
Just heard... Charger is about 2.8-3.0bar....

C'mon.. There are LOTS of ~500hp E46 M3's... with simpler systems...

2.5L Skylines can go for +800hps.. but the 3.2L M3 cant give 500... Damn....

For AWDs.. Yes there's one up for 600hp... Not for RWD.. Its different...

I think this amount of power can be achieved. If running something like 3 bar on a 3,2 engine its have to give a lot of power. But it will only live for a short while. But it should be tested in an engine dyno.

The norwegian M5 produced 1000+ on 3,8 liter.....

No dyno... I searched... There's not a dyno for it in Turkey...

It should be at least 1000hp suitable to give us correct information...

Maybe it doesn't have 990 hp but more than 500 for sure.
You can buy 525 hp kit from G-Power and it doesn't have mods to the drivetrain and small kompressor.
With that turbo you can eazily go for 1000 :D
