EDIT: small article on

Keeping the driveline an all-wheel was a key challenge and Norwood devised a unique torque splitting setup that will still allow the car to get its estimated 1,200 hp to the ground efficiently at all four corners.

I doubt they are sending much power to the front wheels.

lets see, 1200 divided by 2 is 600 (WRX has a 50/50 tq split) so 600hp is goin to the front wheels...
Broken axles for sure
^^ i thought the subaru had an adjustabe center diff? or is that the evo?

This is not a stock drivetrain just look at it. It has a driveshaft from what looks like a transfer case behind the transmission to the front diff. I am sure the put a little thought into the powertrain. Judging the axle by size seam foolish as well. do you know what they are made of? These people are smart enough to get 1200 horsepower out of a 4 cylinder, I am sure they not going to stick some stock axles in there. They have car running in the 8's and 9's and I am sure they have a little more knowledge than some of you bench racers.

The MY05 STI has DCCD (driver controled center diffrential) with an auto or manual mode, the EVO I beleive has only a auto mode.
The engine doesn't looked finished at all (it looks like just the case) so I doubt that thats the actually the drive shaft. As jereomen said they have an idea what there're doing, and I can't wait for the result!

I agree It appears that there are holes in the side of the front of the transmission or front diff there where the driveshaft will be. What you are looking at is probably the steering link.

I wouldnt even class that as a proper WRX, its a dragster with a WRX shell.
Having a look on thier site, hey have a street WRX that does 9.44s which is about .5 off the WRX world record and they did get help from TRP soo its all good :D
