I have a problem with WMP 10, when I had the last version installed, at the beginning of a song there was kind of a distortion in the sound (as if a casette was playing slower than normal) and now that I installed the 10 series, the problem is still there.

Does anyone know what the cause could be??

Thanks :D

It doesnt seem to be with the WMP10 itself. Perhaps its the audio file. Have you tried playing the song with other players such as Winamp and etc?

I had a similar poroblem on Linux and it was a matter of audio decoders (wrong setup).
Cant help U too much with WMP - try to search sth about audio decoder and set all MP3 setup (in control panel) as default - coz I dont know where WMP got its decoder opions saved.

so is microsoft's faultIt is.. coz winamp is using its own setup files (determinig which codec to use) an Uve got to find out where (in options menu) to set usage of codecs (by WMP). it might be in control panel :/ but not sure - try to find it somewere in WPM menu

Try turning off the sound effect things like "SRS WOW Effects" and "Auto volume".

You can do that from the Enhancments thingy. Just click the arrow shape under NOW PLAYING.

I doubt its a problem with Audio Decoders. You can download the audio decoders and re-install them from Microsoft.com

Let me know if it works.
