DDR2 will be faster when hardware supports it, nothing wrong with thinking ahead...

Hardware does support it. DDR2 is slower than DDR because it has really, really shitty timings. Although new versions of it are running with better timings, but the timings still suck horribly.
Also, the prescotts run pretty damn hot if I recall correctly, and they don't perform as well as expected.
What I'm interested in is the two little fans beside the ps/2 slots. Do they actually do anything useful?

yeah the abit boards have really cool cooling systems that help the stability
they have a lil name for it, i just dont remember what its called
apparently helps stability in overclocking, cause it cools most of the stabalizing capacitors and circuitry located near the processor

i have been running abit boards often, and love them

Intel requires the hsf to cool the surrounding capacitors already.. so doesn't that make it pretty much useless?
How loud are those things?

i dont mind niose
and stick your hands on a set of caps that are running on a large overclocked system...they get very hot...just like the north/southbridge

any reduction in heat on a board is a increase in stability.....thats common knowledge

the "pussy" fans do work, i reccomend you read up a bit on abit boards, and their tests done by places like hardocp and overlockers.com

well i suppose we disagree then
ill stand by my chioce, its a cool board, which is high quality
i have had numerous abit boards in the past, always being pretty severly overclocked
as will be this one

hardocp isnt bullshit....
basically every review of the products i read there is true....
and numerous other sites reviews echo the same thing...

tom's hardware is the shitty one....very biased and on certain manufacturers payrolls....

but anyhows...
the mb is cool, i like it, and it will perform well

Id get ASUS very stable lots of cool features both if you want to tweak it and hardware. It all works perfect and all at a good price. 8)

the reviews i have read of this board from numerous places all stated the same thing, its the fastet intel based board for gaming you can buy, and thats from 4 different sites, considering my experience with abit, thats no suprise

i looked at asus, which makes a great board
i looked at msi boards and supermicros
and took a peak and the shuttles

i like this one the best, i like the performance and i like how its done, and i like the visual effects..

that and i once got my ass stomped into the ground by fatal1ty, so the least i can do is buy his board LOL
;)

hardocp isnt bullshit....
basically every review of the products i read there is true....

thats right...

oh w8 no, they fudge reviews, then when people notice and call BS they change the posted review and then deny they ever did, and then promptly BAN anyone who speaks out about it in their forums..

funny how they went from being a popular site with many good o/cer's to shunned in 1 day because of that little episode LMAO

I wouldn't buy a motherboard because there is a great light around it!!!
