Thats a good point TT but I don't think even without the rear wing the modena will beat the E55 amg to the 1/4 mile!

You realize the torque of the E55 is i like 3 or 400 more than the modena. Torque and dragstrips = winning. Too bad the E55 doesn't handle, not that it was meant to.

By that logic, a Lotus Elise is a superior car to the Ferrari F40 and a Radical Sr3 is superior to the CGT, since it is faster than the Porsche around the Nurburgring.

A modena should be a mid to high 12 second car. 12.8 is what I was tought growing up. The e55 should be about 13 flat.

And theres the thing with drag racing, sence it seems you guys havnt done that much in the past

My dads 8 second dragger would be uselessly slow without slicks on. Traction is the biggest factor in drag racing, and ferraris typically dont have a huge amount of twist conpaired to thrust, which is good for any kind of racing (except maybe tracker-pull racing)
The fact that a car has more torque only means it makes more power at a lower eninge RPM thereby getting up to speed faster. But a car with torque like an E55 AMG on the kind of tires it has, would have a traction problem in straight accel runs that tends to limit its times. :wink:

And btw I don't understand why some people here always bitch about that the Ferrari would win on a track and that the Merc cant handle. Well duh, the Ferrari is a sportscar and the merc is a familycar. Actually I think the E55 handles better than most of the cars that the ones that alywas whines have. Oh and try to fit your family in a 360 :wink:
