Well yesterday I tried to go to Geneva since another car sighter living there spotted a nice Gemballa GTR650 parked where the Laguna Seca II was time ago... I hoped to find it there again :D no lucky sadly.. and not many nice cars around, simply becuase it was a shitty day :D (early morning too)..

But well, shitty weather doesn't always mean shitty cars only :D
Exactly, because near the place where I always park my car I just got a fucking XJ220! Now, this is a rare sight on the road (especially since it had German plates, so it was driven quite a few km!), but on a rainy day it is even more surrealistic! And what a nice color it was! Marvellous! Sadly the vallets (is this the word for the guys working at an Hotel, dressed in green in my pics?) in front of that Hotel didn't seem really friendly! They are used to see me around by now I guess, and I am sure they don't give a fuck if I take pics of the lake, the cars or ladies panties, but the cars beeing owned by customers that may be easily "offpissable" :P, they probably prefer to act like that.. that's why I only got 4 pics and why a couple of them are kinda crap (I was too far away and there was not enough light for some proper shots w/o a tripod).. still worth the trip!

And considering today I got both a DB7 and an Elise, we can easily say that British weather drags out British cars :D

As always, click any of the pictures to be taken to the page with the whole set and the 1600x1200 versions

Let's start, in alphabetical order of course :P

Early morning today, luckily the sun managed to find a gap between the clouds to bless my pics with some nice light :D And no idea why, that parking lot usually completely full of cars was deserted :D only me and the DB7!

Well it is you living in Germany LOL.. I thought it was Köhln to tell you the truth, but really no idea. BTW, plates with that red part aren't temporary ones? (like on the white Maybach)

Darkel

Köln, not Köhln :wink:
But it's probably Koblenz because the letter K is for the biggest city with a name in K, and I don't think Koblenz is bigger than Köln

Cool pics TT, nobody dared to park near that DB7 LOL And really great catch on that XJ220, does the back look odd to nayone else or is it just my eyes :?
Certainly caught the attention of that kid in the backgroud (or was it the mad person taking pics LOL) And what are you trying to say about British weather Matteo, it doesn't always rain.... much!! :P

**EDIT** HAHAHAHHAHA You got that new word you invented in :P

Of course I could call it Hawaiian weather or something else, but I suppose it could create a bit of confusion :D "British weather" is an international dogma :D

Darkel

And it can also work when there's a lot of fog ... London's weather

If the letters are BLACK and on the right is a RED square, than it is a plate for export-cars (international).

The "KO" means that this car came from a dealer in Koblenz where it was registered. In this case, it can be used/driven until Oct. 19th 2005. After this date, the insurance expires and you have to re-register it. But it should be possible to find a "home" for an XJ220 within a year... :)

...damn it! I didn't know that a XJ220 was around here... to late. :oops:

...and I don't think Koblenz is bigger than Köln
K=Köln (1.017.721 inh.)
KO=Koblenz (107.950 inh.)

Simply lucky you TT....since you dont have a bad day in terms of watching "ok" cars.....the XJ 200 just looks impressive, and the E34 M5 looks great as well.....as every M5 except the last one IMO......the 328s, the DB7s, and the Elises pic alongside the leaves representing the autumn just look as great as usual ......

I admit I was tempted to give a call to ask for the price (the was only a "for sale", a couple of info and a phone number). It is a 1992 model with 132'000 km, that's not too bad afteall.. the exterior seemed really mint, as the inside, so I fear it doesn't come very cheap :)

They had an XJ220 on the danish car show this spring but sadly the only camera I had was no better than your average cameraphone. but the xj is so awesome... When you see people standing right next to it, they still seem to be like 5m away! It's just huge. by the way I could put up the pictures from that car show if only someone told me how :oops: ???

My sister thought the 220 looked cute so she told me that she would get one. hmm now how to explain this to a girl :roll:

Again some great sightings, TT. The E39 M5 looks great with its clean style. But the king of the day certainly is the XJ220. And with that colour it even looks better. It's a super rare sight.

I only saw one once at a car show when I still was a little kid - I never saw one on the streets. But the car impressed me then, it looked really big and long. TT, is it really a big car, or did this amazing car just had such an impact on me as a child?

TT
11-01-2004, 06:58 AM
Well, as always when you see such things as a child, the size strucks you in a complete diferent way :D It was the same for me for my first supercars sighting many years ago!

Still, the XJ is very imposing in a way.. difficult to define, but its shape make it appear pretty big indeed! A car you wouldn't want to park in a crowded car park for sure :D
