New ipod Photo ...looks alright..the color lcd looks nice but it will eat battery life like nobodys bussiness, also I've been trying to figure out what exactly they mean by photo...does it actually take pictures like a camera phone or is it just that it lets you see pictures you have just taken with you camera?

I wonder why all these single purpose things have to try to do something that it isn't suppose to do...... Taking pictures we have digi-camera-/phone <--- (yeah I know)....3 in 1 not necessary a better products. Ppl paying a few hundred bucks on an MP3 player not becoz it can take picture, but becoz it has the best function and can hold tons of songs. I think apple is starting to go a bit off track.

What's next? and iPod that shaves? Shaving ur legs while listening to MP3 and taking pictures of it LOL!!.... <goosebumps>..

The iPod Photo doesn't take photos, but it does allow you to store/organise/view your photos on it. It alos hooks up to a TV to give a slideshow if you want

IMO... nice colour LCD, but i'm not gonna change my 3rd Gen until Apple makes a vPod... video on the iPod :P

[EDIT] Sorted :wink:

I suppose, but a HD really is a better solution than Mem cards... 60GB is already on the ipod photo :wink:

I don't really have use for a palm pilot or such... my phone laready does all of that :lol:

i dont understand......................to get the pix onto the ipod u have to use a computer anyway! soooooooooooooooo couldnt u jsut dl the pix onto the comp, instead of backing them up on the ipod? and almost all digicams have screens to preview pix, so wouldnt it be cheaper to invest in some more mem card as opposed to buying a more expensive colour ipod?

am i missing something?

{EDIT}

IF you buy the belkin car reader..which looks to be the same size as the ipod itself, u can transfer from camera to ipod. but whats the point of the viewing feat? as mentioned......cameras ahve screens..........u not just use the belkin adapter thing w/ a regualr ipod and save $$?

Well.. There is a gadget to the iPod which lets you upload photos from memory cards onto it.. It's better to view all the photos this way..

Edit: Well, after you've deleted them from the cam, you may want to view them on the iPod.. If you're on holiday, and meet someone who wants to see your pics..

thats a shitload of money to pay...extra just to look at pictures..and have less battery life..IMO-but still it is 60 gig..and very small good for transporting files..if you need to, but still not worth it.

they claim 5hrs of continuous pix and music, or 15hrs oc music..isnt that better than a standard ipod?

thats very optimistic..I have a 4G iPOD..and they say battery life is 12 hours..mine has gotten no where near 12 hours...so I would guess that it wouldnt be anywhere near 5 hours or 15 hours of battery life..they should go ahead and put a lithium ion battery in there..life would be much better.

I'd pass on this to at least 2G or 3G iPod Photo.
