OK I've been playing this game for a good 12 hours now and I am amazed, The first of 3 maps I am on is bigger than GTA3 and GTAVC put together, it's too damn easy to get lost in.
Getting to the locked maps isn't hard once you build up your character so he can swim long distances (stamina) but when you get to the other map you get an automatic 4 star ratting and are barraged with bullets.
The amount of cars in the game is astonishing and you will find some classic ones from Vice City in the game along with new ones. The game takes place in the Early 90's starts in 91, they talk about the election on the radio (Clinton's 1st term).
The Missions in the game are aplenty and very different but I am stuck on this damn one where you have to impress a chick with your dance moves to get into her van and it's a fucking Dance Dance Revolution knock off. The story line isn't linear exactly either which is really nice.
Developing your character is a huge! part of the game play when you start you are a scrauny little guy and you can choose to get nice and fat or Ripped and full of stamina, but you have to remember to eat or your stats will drop. you even have to dress certain ways at certain points. At first I had a pot belly guy in a wife beater but now his muscle and stamina stats are at max and he can run fast for really long distances, and is pretty damn strong and quick when fighting. you even have to get apropriate hair cuts and tatoos to match your style to gain "Sex appeal" stats.
I forsee a lot of hours spent on this game and my grades starting to slip slightly.
I can't begin to describe how awesome this game is!

Our priority truck broke down for work and they actually rented an Enterprise Truck to deliver the games overnight so they would be there on time. And there are still places that don't have it yet.
The game is amazing.. I just got 1 problem with it.. .. I have to go back all the way to home to save the game and it's a really long way.. Why can't I just hit start save and continue.. :cry: .. But other than that.. I'm enjoying every bit of it...

It was the same with the other games, they had safe houses to save at and it's the same here you can buy other homes if you have the cash.
Way better and more realistic that way!

Saving and loading isn't very realistic at all if you think about it.. :wink:
Ok, so the best solution is to remove them so we would need to play 24/7 for some weeks to finish the game (not that GTA has a real ending afteall :D)

I sure hope they still have one in stock :oops: I'm sure i will be able to find one in town... they are shipping 4.5 MILLION copies of the game this friday 8)

Got my copy last night at midnight,me thinkin fuck it ill be up ill go get it seen as no one else would more than likely wanna go at that time........WRONG the line was goin back for a long way,the 3 main video game shops opened in my town and the lines were goin way out of the stores main doors.the shop i went to (gamestation) had about 200 copys stacked at the back of the store and i was about 3rd or 4th to get mine.
anyway i played it for a little while when i got home and im impressed,cant really giv a detailed description as i aint much into it yet but its shaping up to be a really good game.

what do you mean?.......... shoot by looking to the right or the left?
I mean: if you will just drive, only Smoke will shoot (Is it smoke BTW?).. but you can use your own gun (if you already have some) and shoot pressing just O in this case I don't think you need to look to the left or right. I ended it pretty quickly at the first try :D

Uhm, I really can't understand. You catch up with the train right away, then you stay with your bike, not really beside them, but slighty "before", so you can still see them.. Your Homie will start shooting and slowly damaging them, you start pressing your O and you will take them all down a little bit after the other train comes toward you from the opposite direction.

haha I beat that one on the first try, right after the oncomming train flew by.I'm done with the Sweet and Smoke missions and am on the Hispanic guys now.

i dont understand this at all im doing what your saying and no matter what the dumbass on the back of the bike does very little damage the best ive done is kill 3 of them by the end and then it just stops and i lose

I DID IT FINALLY
I thought that this mission was easy.... there aren't any more obstacles after the car on the line and the train coming in the opposite direction :|
I couldn't get the right angle to shhot the men on top as TT Suggested, so it took a long time for Smoke to kill them... i wanted to give him my gun :wink:
The Dance is an ass.... I can't finish that mission.. And I can't remember the buttons too.. :(

Got the game working friday and i cant put the controller down, im pretty far already. Im starting up my garage in san fierro
How far into the game is that?
Currently i have completed all the Grove Street Missions, and am starting the lowrider missions for Carlos. I really want to fly over San Andreas.... but currently can't access the airport :(
Also.... my driving skills are too low to be able to take part in a race at the stadium.... it takes forever to upgrade them :|
I thought i had got pretty far, but it seems that i will need to so some more playing, and less work :wink:

@ Jon .... well it's supposed to have 100hrs of playtime, so i guess some people will ruin the game for themselves by rushing it. I like to mess about too :P ... my game will last forever 8)

Or you can buy the Game guide from Brady all 179 pages of it.
Also when can you get to San fiero?
You can get in a plane before you get a license but he sucks at flying all you do is go to the airport and park a car infront of the building and jump on the car then jump and grab onto the guard building and then climb up and jump over the fence.

ok i have this game, caused me not to go 2 JW for 2 days...
what can i say oooommgggg
i done 100% muscle and stamana
i got about 50% of breath
i have hitman skill with the uzi's enabling me to carry 2 of the bad boys!
i spent a whole 6 hours trying to gain as much terrotory as possible, i done some countryside missions, where i unlocked a truck mission, so i was doing deliverys in a truck, hahaha
i had a colonbine harvaster, damn that thing is awsome, when you chop people up and it spits them out, driving school was fun, i don't knwo what else to say, i haven't flowen yet, and i wana get a paracute to base jump off buildings, such an awsome game, but if i spend like 20minutes lost i go outside for a bit and chill from all my fustration,
also the radio stations are awsomeeee
guns and roses, AFI, RATM, and that personal jesus song, and talk back radio sooo funny
ohhh and the side missions.....
i have only talked about 1% of the game aswell..

I really don't have that much time to play at the moment... i got it on friday, but my holiday has just finished. :(
I have quite a bit of territory and i love the gang feature.... gettin' some homies to roll wid me :wink:

I got into the airort and had a go with the helicopter, but got shot down by something strange :shock: ... i don't want to spoil it for you guys though :)
I'm gonna start the missions in S. Fiero tomorrow or later in the week.
Oh.. i alos had a fly in a Dodo... and i tried to fly the Lear Jet/Challenger in Los Santos airport, but i crashed it and wanted to carry on with the game :wink:

im doing on that mission for ceasar where you have to race through the country side but i was always mess up. im not liking this part of the game nothin interesting is happening
In GTA there is always something interesting :D burglary, ambulances, firefighter, taxi, vigilante missions! Not to talk about dating your girl, taking new territories, ...

Sachmo.. if you can't find anything fun in the game to do, you're playing the wrong game :wink: I still play on GTA III from time to time (although at the momen San Andreas has my full concentration :wink: )
I love this game, and the playing area really is so huge that i have to pause and look at the map a lot of the time :oops: I guess i will know the streets better when i have played it for longer.
Meanwhile.... driving an 18-wheeler is very tricky :? .... definitely a skill i am planning to hone :D

Holy Crap I just realized that my car is in this game!
needless to say I have one in one of my garages.
I won 1.5 million dollars playing that Inside Track Betting so I bought like 5 houses and tons of clothes and custom cars. I can only find 2 custom shops on the first Island though.
I want to get to San Fiero I just finished the first race for Cesar and still can't get past that damn dancing on the beach mission.
You can buy custom cars? if yes, where? I tried to take regular not lowridre cars to the customizing place but they are not accepted LOL! I wanted to add some Nitrous to my pick up! :D

there is a custom shop in the city near the mock Hollywood sign right next to a pay and spray that customizes everything but bikes I had a bright red limo with hydraulics dropped to the ground. You can add offroad lights and brush guards to trucks then use the hydraulics to lift it. Sadly you can do it with bikes or I would have nitrous on my bike.

If you get out your map and look for Mullholland you will see the wrench symbol.
Head over there in the game and when you ge to the pay and spray there will be a closed garage door next to it that say's trans somethingif you pull up to it, it should open It was unlocked when the other one got unlocked to my knowledge.

I didnt see it listed so heres how u get it :D
2 Players Mode
Here and there it exist secret 2-Players icons (there are two heads on it).
Go near it, and it will ask you to connect an extra controller in the second
controller port. It exist Rampage and Free Roam-icons, and you can play some
minigames together, like pool. In Rampage you and your friend usually just
kill some peds in a limited time period. In Free Roam, you walk around and
just have fun.
But the 2 Player Mode is limited to no missions at all and you must both stay
on the same screen.
You often find a 2P-icon near your girlfriends houses when you have got a
specific % with that girl.

In NorthEast Idlewood. About 2 Blocks North of the Tattooist Place,
just south of the highway, there is an open building with fences around it,
and a sort of archway door. Go in there and there it is, a red icon with two
people on it. You don't have to have done anything to get it.
BTW, as already posted by T-Bird, I strongly suggest some horse betting activity as soon as you need some cash :) in some minutes you should be able to rack up some millions if you are lucky. I bet usually on one of the worst two horses 9-1 to 12-1..
it can be usefull at least to stock a little bit on weapons and most important, to buy some more cribs ;)
As for my progress in the game.. kinda scarce :D finally I left Los Santos and I am for now stuck in the outskirts (south-west) wich are absolutely stunningly big and great fun to roam around!
Oh yes, I also did the Pimping side quest already :D so now whores have to pay me if they want to blow me :P

ok, i have now unlocked all the islands, and flew a plane out of hover dam, and went over aera 51 and got shot down!

im loving it, i spent half an hour driving on the freeway's inproving my bike skills.
ive just uncovered pretty much all of the second city,im thinkin of doin the betting now as i wanna buy a new house in the second city and one i like is about 100000 i think it was.so im gonna do TT and T-birds thing of betting on the horses.
Hehe, 48'000'000 $ thanks to the horses today! I can assure it is worth the hassle! And if you can afford the cribs that lies pretty close to the betting place in Los Santos it is even quicker ;) (since you will need lot of "load game") ;)
I Finally did the Ambulance's 12 levels and it's really really hard on a town we barely know for now! I did it in Los Santos obviously and it's not really that hard afterall, but confusing at first! now the health bar is sensibly longer :D time for the Taxi fares or the Vigilante missions :D ... no idea why, I can't bother about the storyline so far LOL! JC's friend in the hostpital.. Smoke a little bastard that needs a lesson and I am stuck playing all the side stuff possible :D
BTW, before starting vigilante or paramedic and such missions, be sure to have a good sleep and to EAT! In the middle of it (level 10) I began to starve.. lost all the fat I always keep on CJ (not that much.. just enough to prevent burning muscles) and then muscles and energy began to drop! At the end of level 12 I have lost 50% health and around 1/6 muscles!
Dang.so much stuff in this game to keep tabs on but its awesome.i keep forgetting to eat and then i go to the gym and then ill forget to go for a couple days (in game days that is)
have u ever stood in ammunation stores and listened to the speaker they have on,that guy cracks me up with the stuff he says,LOL
LOL indeed, that constand Ammunation ads are funny, sadly kinda annoying when you do the shooting competition :P

im still unsure whether this bigfoot is true,i spent 3 game days at that area last night and found nuthin apart from a smashed up car come rolling down the hill with no one in it

Ontop, behind the camper :) then you just take a bike or motorbike and jump off the ramp near the US flag. You hit the triangle to let the bike go and O to open the parachute and glide down :) pretty cool!

Well first of all, you have to know that the fuel gauge is basically a time bar.. if you use X all the time or not, nothing changes, it is just a timer, so use the X as much as you need. Then well, the first two couriers should be no problem, you kill the first one in the van right at the start, then turn to the left and kill the one on the bike. I left the two to the nord as the last ones. The third one should be managed quickly or else you won't have enough time
the one on the motocross bike is a pain in the ass for sure... the best idea is to manage to come in front of him, touch the ground and shoot him like crazy.. he will speed toward you, but you should hit him more than he hits you. Or else, try to come from high above and go down on him as quick as possible, but risks to take to many tries... when you go after the last one, the timer should be at 50% or just below, or else you won't be able to come back on the roof of your building!
The last one is easy, he won't try to escape, so you just take it out very quicky and back home..
I needed at least 10 tries, and of course you also need some luck at some point!

ok,i read later that that pic is a fake......BUT the bigfoot is real it seems.apparently makes an appearence mainly at night the time si heard are between 23:00 - 03:00 and mostly on a rainy,foggy and thundering night

OK I was doing the Jizzy mission and got fed up and quit so I went to do the driving school and I can't do a damn barrel roll did anyone else have this problem?
Yes it is the only challenging test, but you will get it in the end.. sadly even if you end up on your 4 wheels but the landing was on two and then you had some problems to stabilyze the car, you get 0%.. the trick is to really hit the ramp as close as possible to its limit and hope the car will complete the rotation before hitting the ground.. you will then get 100% :) I think I also gave a little steering imput before leaving the ramp when I made it, can't remember if it was to the left or to the right though
god dam,can i do that mission of Zero's with the model plane and having to shoot the couriers of his enemy....NOPE i cant frickin do it,the couple times i actually stopped all the couriers i ran out of fuel,and the rest of the time i keep gettin blown up.....any hints you can giv guys?

I am having a strange glitch/bug.. since some time, I have extreme difficulties in opening the doors of my fucking garages in San Fiero LOL! I need so stand in front of them immobile for a couple of minutes or they won't open at all!

for the barrel roll i tried doing it on the left like 10 times then i tried on the right and got it on the first try

You will unlock the driving school (for car at least) while going on with the storyline. And it is just a couple of blocks down the road from your main crib in S Fierro. Actually you can already enter it, but can't take part in the driving tests.

On that topic, the game sold 667, 000 copies in the UK on it's first two days. The fastest selling game in the UK ever, and only 10 other games have sold that many in their lifetime (in the UK clearly) 8)

I am guessing the next Grand Theft auto would be bassed in the Midwest in a psudo Chicago environment (last region left on the list) we are known for some famous criminals around here. That or some international game like in the US and then Europe mixed in.

I heard guesses of it hitting the 13.5-14.5 million copy mark quickly...

I though the Dancing thing was hard.... That is pretty easiy compared to the model airplane mission... I took TT's advice and it still hard.... Some missions are just paint in the ass...
after TT told me about those model missions i got through them easy,i did mission 3 first time but mission 2 out of those 3 was a pain in the ass,i got really pissed at the game at that point,lol

Just for the records, I finally managed to find the courage and steal a tank from Area 69!! :D with the jetpack it is very easy and that way I just completed the level 12 vigilante mission in order to improve my armor level :D

Well, i'm up to the driving school missons now, and what a bitch that barrel roll is :? ... i really can't seem to get it right, after about half-a-day (GTA time :wink: ) i still haven't done it.
Oh and everytime i jump off mount chilliad with a parachute, i just hit the rocks and get wasted. Which direction do you jump in???
You need to jump with a bike or motorbike, using the rump near the american flag for instance.. so you will jump far away, then you let the bike go (triangle) and open the parachute when you want :D

Either a tank or something that flies ;) but I used the tank of course :D
The paramedic ones are usually wicked especially since you can't fix the ambulance and can't use a tank :D (I did it in Los Santos, up to lev 12 and it was a nightmare)
Some missions are just paint in the ass...

Yep, loving it. Best bit is going to the gym but not having to put any effort in lol. I am only 5% of the way there, so am still learning the map lol.....I keep getting lost. Thought I was going for a country drive at one point!
LOL you will go for many country drives,and unlike previous GTA's you cant just focus on the little map,you will have to pause and look at the big map for the best route.glad your enjoying it jon :D
Quick tip: to quickly reach Hitman level on every weapon, just shoot a car's wheel for some minutes :D very quick and no risks ;)
HAHAHA, to get GTA "mafia-style" thanks to some "connections" is perfect :)

las vanturas in the airport go down to the biggest hanger stand at the doors and wait for them to lower, it's a big icolated hanger
with a big fat plane in it! enjoy!

territories how i get 100%, i have like 99.3% i think they won't allow you 100% so they can always get invaded or soemthing...
i aint done any of the territories things,how do u get more?

After a while a message will appear "you have started a gang war".. and they will start coming in waves.. if you survive the 3rd wave you will own the territory. be sure to take with you a couple of homies and to have health and armor at max (and if possible, even higher thanks to Vigilante and Paramedic missions). it's is usually pretty though ;)

Nope, I just added a couple before moving to S. Fierro and in the past days I just worked on sidequests, so I just began Las Ventura right now.. and I suppose the moment when you can against fight for territories will come again later in the game

Concerning the territories, someone said to me that the % left is just a little pavement somewhere in the city ... you have to go there and wait at least 15 minutes until you have the possibility to start a gang war :roll:

sorry to open an old thread guys, but i Just got San Andreas for Christmas and have been addicted to playing this game for about a week now and its fucking awesome! my guy is ripped!! and TT, thanks for the tip about betting, it only didnt work for me once, but i was progressivly betting more, up to 80,000 trying to win the 1/12...and it came as high as 15 times without winning... it was the only time i lost, and of course i saved the game with 350,000...but i am getting low now only 110K so I will n eed to do some more off track betting, and I just got to San Fiero... i fucking love this game :mrgreen: sooo awesome I think i am going to leave JW, and go play it right now :D

Definitely an improvement over the original two. Also the plot/story isn't bad either. Pretty good stuff. Although I like Vice City a lot, it was basically a rehash of Scarface.

I told my friend in France about the off track horse betting, using TT's tip, and he won 55 million in two days!!!!(maybe 3 hours betting or so) I am now in the desert, and this game gets better and better, ive flown a plane, skydived, jumped off the mountain but i am still waiting to unlock the gang wars again so i can fuck those bad asses up! is anyone else still playin this game? or have u guys all completed it already? :shock:

I got bored of the missions in San Fiero (the second island) and havn'e bothered with it since. I am going to have to find some tim to get back into the game, but i really have not been that interested. To be honest, i played it for abt 2weeks when i got it, then turned my PS2 off ever since.... except for a quick blast on GT3 to whett my appetite for GT4, a game that i won't be turning off in a hurry :wink:

hey guys if anyone can help me, i am currently doing the airfield missions and I had no problems until I had to do the mission where u circle the landing strip. You musty first take off, and get up to the height of the first ring....my problem is that when i try to climb altitude the plane sputters...now i know that you have to gain altitude gradulay, and no amount of fiddling with the stick will get me up high enough....unless i swing a circle after lift off, and come back around and go through the rings! if i do it that way, the fucking thing gives me a big fat zero and it takes me two minutes to complete the "mission", track, whatever the fuck u want to call it. its frustrating! help!! :cry:
Dang, I remember doing all of them at the first try with no problems whatsoever.. so I guess I just kept X pressed and went for it the more direct way possible.. no idea why you can't gain enough altitude :?

I would suggest taking off as soon as possible don't let it take off naturally just hit the gas and pull up it will work and if not try doing it the opposite direction ie clockwise/counterclockwise.

I know i'm a bit slow on the uptake, just got San Andreas a few weeks back after "the rush" n nearly completed the Venturas missions.
I remember seeing a map with loads of locations for cars/bikes/planes/boats etc on, was it on here? any one got it? cheers ;)
Fantastic game btw, some games do little bits better than SA but no one has so much diversity and quality all in the same package as SA, love it! ;)
