Same as title! Let's hear about some stories you guys may have about you whooping someone on the road, or being whooped, or whatever! Just some entertaining stories 8)

here's a few I have:

--> There's this parking lot, next to this theater I go to a lot, that's like always empty at night past like 11 or so, and it's a good 9-10 carlengths wide and about 1/6th or 1/7th of a mile long. Okay so this one time, after seeing a movie, my brother, me, and one of his friends decided to have some races there! My brother was (at the time, like 3 years ago) driving my mom's 1997 Ford Escort, and he was to race against his friend's 1973 Volvo 164 (which is in AMAZING condition). They raced twice, the Escort won once, and the Volvo won the other time, but both times it was real close. So I decided to whip out my r/c truck (see sig and avatar), and race both of em...whooped them both times...like it wasnt even funny. Until my truck (let's call it the NMT from now on) hit it's top speed of about 46-47mph, it was a good 1.5-2 carlengths ahead of either of the other cars. And this was with my full off-road setup for the NMT (soft springs with loose oil, and huge, soft tires (the ones in the left pic of my sig), which means low acceleration, good top-end) Hah it was awesome.

-->This other time, when my bro and I were just hanging out at that same theater parking lot during the day (cause I wanted to test out my new on-road setup for my NMT), and I was drivin it around, tuning the engine, etc etc. Now this is my full on-road setup, with low-profile tires (middle pic of avatar), springs easily twice as stiff as the off-road ones, and shock oil almost twice as thick (70wt, vs 40wt), so I get massive acceleration but not-so-good top-end (about 39-40mph). This beautiful white new CLK55 AMG starts coming towards me (as it got closer, I noticed a 60-some man with his wife in it), so I line up my truck next to where it's gonna be, then when it got beside me, I hammered it. Noticing that he was being raced, the guy in the CLK HAMMERED it (engine roaring, tires screaming and all) and, again, I whooped it until my truck hit top speed

--> One time when I was staying ay my friend's house down at the New Jersey shore for Thanksgiving 2 years ago, I brought my truck along (in full on-road guise) so I could drive it around there. So it's about 10:00 at night, and I'm terrorizing this main street right near the house with my NMT. The traffic was sparse, as it was thanksgiving night, but every car that went by, I raced... Needless to say, I only got one or two brief races, but they were nothing. This one time though, there was this mid-90's Mercedes C-class, black with tinted windows, who I raced, but I ended up backing off a bit, just to get behind him cause i didnt wanna run into the curb. But I was behind him for like a second then the guy slams on the brakes and I almost ran into him! I almost had a heart attack cause I almost rammed the car (fortunately I was able to stop in time). Hah it was fun though.

--> Lol now for some rear car-car races  Aiight, my bro and I did a lot of driving in my dad's old car (which he replaced with a 3.2TL) which was a 1995 Lincoln Continental with a 4.6-liter V8 that put out 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque (...stock). Interestingly, we were able to get quite a few people to race us, but none were crazy cars. We beat: ford probe (or as my bro and I call it, the anal-probe), three or four riced out civics, an old-ish Mazda 626, and some other random cars from time to time. It was fun though, beating those rice bombs with an old, sloppy, american luxury boat.

My bro and I are likely gonna buy ourselves a mid-90s Lexus SC300, and needless to say we're gonna be doin quite a bit of racing with it  so even though that's a long way away, I'll keep you guys posted!

lol hope you liked the stories! and let's hear some of yours!!

Peace
Brian

The night of my senior prom, I was driving my old lease car, a Mazda 626 ES V6, manual. I was in the car with my date, and my best friend was in the back with his. We were driving by my highschool on the way to one of my friend's houses where we were to spend the night. This brand spanking new Dodge Stratus coupe was driving in front of us, but as we passed the school, he pulled into the parking lot, then after we went by, he ducked in behind us again. We came over the crest of the hill, and went down to the stoplight. He pulled up next to us. I looked over, his windows were all tinted so dark you couldn't see inside at all, but I revved the engine, and he revved his in response. Then we lined up and when the light went green we were off. I let off around 55mph by which time he was well behind us, but he kept going even after I braked down to the speed limit. The next Monday in school he came over to me at lunch and said, 'yo, was that you in the 626 on Saturday night?' I just laughed. There was no way I should've beaten him with 4people in the car and so 35 less horsepower.

My dad brought home the Focus FR200, a fwd 304bhp monster, and we ended up racing a variety of Vettes, and F-Bodies and even one or two stangs...the only thing that managed to take us was a Modded S4...and that was only because my dad lined up on the paint at the intersection and we had a horrible launch as a result. Man that thing was crazy.

The other good race I had was in the new lease I've got, a Mazda 6 S V6 manual. Now that's a decent car, 220bhp and 220lb-ft of torque. Anyway, I was out cruising on Woodward Avenue just prior to the dream cruise with a buddy of mine, and we ended up following a gang of Imprezas in various states of tune partway to a streetrace. There was a modded SVT Contour (ST200 Mondeo for those of you in Europe), following them too, so I decided to play with him a bit and see what he'd do. He paced us and when we pulled up to a stoplight he rolled down his window and said to follow him to a safer spot to race. We lined up next to each other and went. I had him by a carlength at 30mph and more than 3 by the time we hit 80... the funny thing is that my car is totally bone stock and he was running some fairly serious hardware, I guess he just didn't implement it well hehe.

My favorite little story of street racing happened about 2 years ago. It's more of a story of the race that wasn't, for the most part. I was driving my car down the local strip-mall street at about 3 AM. I was horsing around a bit with a guy and his buddy driving around in a souped up '97 Camaro. No suprise, when we did gun the hammer pedal, he tore me a new one. But that wasn't the funny part about that night.

After we exchanged a little small talk at a long light, we were driving down the road. I had pulled in behind him for the road split up ahead. When we came to a stop, it wasn't more than 15 seconds when this 'Fast 'N Da Fureeoz' Mitsubishi Eclipse comes cruising up, pulling up next to the Camaro. Neon lighting, big stereo blaring away with rap music, two kids trying to look cool, you can guess the sort. I was about to dismiss the car, until I heard it start to rev at the Camaro. Nevermind the rumble out of the Camaro's exhaust, or the super-wide tires, the Eclipse wanted to race! I saw the driver of the Camaro look over at the Eclipse, and nodded, but not without letting out a good blort of V8 rumble. Didn't discourage the Eclipse's passengers. The passenger started to mouth off at the Camaro's driver. I knew this was going to get ugly.

So the green light finally comes about, the Eclipse takes off. With buzzing muffler rattling madly, he just headed off. At least, that's was the last I saw of it. This cloud of tire smoke is pouring out of the Camaro's wheel wells, as he's doing a burnout right there in front of me. (He must have burnt off a good 1/16th off his tires doing that; I was cleaning off the rubber from my fender with WD-40 the next day :) ) The Camaro finally lets off the brake after about 5 seconds, snaking back and forth as the tail tried to bite into the blacktop, then just took OFF. He just ran down the Eclipse, and flew right by it. I guess that REALLY took the Eclipse driver by suprise, because he swerved, to his right towards the curb/kerb and badly. The Eclipse ran up against the curb, and bumped off pretty hard, sending him rebounding back into the lane I was driving in, before the driver caught it and straightened it out. So THAT was over. Or so I thought.

I made sure to stay well back from the race, giving them a little room, so by the time I hit the next traffic light, the Camaro was long gone, and the Eclipse was sitting there, waiting for the light to turn. I turned my head to give the driver a consoling smile, and then waited for the light. Well, it wasn't long before I heard that familiar rattling exhaust, gunning it up once again! I just decided to get it over with, so I set the emergency brake, then just gunned the motor, and did my own smokeout. When I finished, and took off at the green, the guy in the Eclipse took off very, very slowly....
