I think it really depends on how the engine rule change goes........
if it remains 3.0 V10 but only on a longer distance coverage, it might not be that bad. Now that BAR is being 2nd in the Championship, they should be getting more money from Berrnie...It would prolly help their developement and stuff.

I wonder how good Jenson would be to BAR, given he doesnt want to be there, and now the whole team knows it.

I prefer he drives a BAR next season... With Honda behid them, it's like an official team. I remember Jordan winning races in 1998-1999 and a couple of years later, in the last positions of the grid... but I don't think it's the same case, with Honda behind the team with full support.

but at the end of the day, williams are the better team even though they haven't shown it this season and have the better engine, and hopefully by next season the better complete car.

I think button will do well whereever he ends up but i think he'll be winning championships sooner if he goes to williams

There is always 2006. Button is still young ....

I heard that Richards wanted Button to be the third driver next season, as a punishment for his Williams-gate... I hope he was just joking when he said that.
Well Button is a good driver and has made better use of the BAR than Sato so it is illogical for David Richards to put him as the third driver - even if ego is at stake... Also there are millions involved in the team finishing second or third or fourth in the championship so DR will do his best to field his best team and therefore Button will drive. Of course this is assuming that the Williams stick to the statement that they will respect the CRB ruling and not pursue JB for 05.

Come 2005, this is all water under the bridge. A couple of good results and both will forget that this occured .... till the silly season commences in mid-'05.

Button seems to be easy going guy and not bear grudges. In the end of the day he wants to win races and win championships - so if BAR can do it for it him he wouldn't care. The team is a means to an end to him. I think he will be professional enough to do well next year in whatever car he drives.

Also remember if he drives purposely badly it wouldnt do his resume much good when he is shopping for a ride in 06. He wouldnt want to do a Trulli and take gardening leave for part of the 05 season.

but at the end of the day, williams are the better team even though they haven't shown it this season and have the better engine, and hopefully by next season the better complete car.

True if you believe that history repeats itself. But there are question marks against Williams - they are pretty far behind technically and they are not really having a high-profile aero man. Their philosophy of treating drivers like minor players and not nurturing them is going to cost them. Maybe this was OK in the 80s and early to mid 90s when they had a superior car and could afford to short change the drivers. Now the car advantage is no longer there they are hurting...

And I am aware that Wily Wili (weber) struck when the iron was hot and secured a lucrative deal for Ralfie boy way back. Williams have been smarting ever since....

How many World champion drivers at Williams stayed on after they won the championship? They could have kept Montoya if they had agreed to a pay increase back in 2002 or so...

After every race you hear Patrick Head lambasting the drivers and the drivers lambasting the team. This has got to stop if they have progress together.

Also they are losing their current driver base. Unless they find a secret weapon, they are not likely to challenge for the 05 crown because of the new driver combos and the extent of improvement they need to do to match Ferrari.
