I get home, go to turn it on and it starts making grinding noises and cant load the disc.
Oh well I guess i'm just going to have to sell it for parts and buy a new PS2 Redesign.

Did u break it on purpose so that u can give urself a reason to buy the PS2.5?
Does the PS2.5 include the firewire ports? have noticed some later PS2 models themselves omitting this connection.

Can't see any in T-Birds pics- what do they get used for anyway? BTW mine is broke too and the new one looks very tempting especially with a 30% discount via a friend  If only they actually had some

The PSTwo/PS2.5 removed the i.Link/Firewire/IEEE1394a port. The port wasnt that popular in the first place and the inclusion of ethernet/modem ports made it redundant.

let me reccomend once again... www.xmodd.com while you wont get the thin PS2, you can get a premodded one so you can read copies!

yeah. . . I am looking forward to getting the new updated one. My first gen one still has the horrorable Disc Read Error problem no matter how I adjust the lense.

If you have a local EBGames down there, trade in your broken PS2 for 50 bucks credit. You can also trade in up to 5 games for 10 bucks apiece for a total of 50 bucks credit. Then you'll only need to come up with 50 bucks to get the new PS2.
www.ebgames.com has more info on it.
