He is running slicks on city roads  - No rain or snow there to worry about? I wonder how long they last?

I was thinking the same thing! LOL Seems like a good way to wear out expensive tires quickly!

You know we are expecting pics right? :P

perhaps im totally wrong in thinking this as i have no real experience ;)

but driving slicks in the city wouldnt cause much additional wear, as the tires arent warmed up to evoke extra grip, let alone the frictional surface loss from a lot of slow right, and left handers isnt great either. i imagine you could run those every day between track events without loosing out much...

Driving in the 'city' (downtown TO) is a very very slow process. those tires wont warm up at all, and you hardly need much grip at stop and go 10 km an hr :( so many nice cars in TO, but nowhere to drive them until you are well out of the city...

My friend's Eclipse GSX had Hoosier slicks on it for like 5 1/2 months cuz he was doing alot of track driving. He said that if you stay off the freeway, and rough sufraced roads that they dont wear much more than some R-compounds.
