How was your weekend?

BTW: Cheeese Stakes are not bad....but too damn large! And those pretzels that you put mustard on are also pretty damn good. I guess they used to be a poor man's hot dog. :o

I loved and hated it. My feelings were really mixed. Some areas are beautiful and some, as I got to see, suck the balls. I got into the city at about 20.30 on Friday and took a wrong right turn. This put me on a series of one way rods which lead me into the damn ghetto. It was friggin scary when I found myself going the wrong way on a one way street in the ghetto and about 20 black guys (4 of which in a messed up Explorer) were blocking the intersection. I had to stop and they shouted something like "Wrong way, man!". I put in reverse and slammed the gas. I drove out of there like Schumi. :P The downtown area is very beautiful indeed and the city hall is lovely. I also liked the boulevard with all the nations' flags.

I'm sorry, but I only read your invitation to meet for a cheese steak when I came back. :( Maybe next time? :P

Thanks. Not really a photo student. I did take a one semester course in photography though.

Nice pics Mihai ... I liked the tunnel one and the darkened room with the shutters the best. The latter has a 40s noir movie feel about it :)

Kept in steady cruise ... 110kmph - what are you man or mouse? C'mon man youn need go atleast 130 or so and cruise. :P I mean you can't have a moniker like Bad-mihai and drive like a mouse ... or else be called Mousemihai :P

And be honest ... you did sit on Benjamin Franklin's lap didnt you? :P

I loved the Cheesesteak there - I had it at a small shop - it was lovely but massive as you say! :)

I sat on the same bench, but not on his lap.

I was about 5 mph over the limit there and had had a long drive. Since I don't have a radar detector getting a fine was not really worth it.

Just pulling your leg man! It helps to cruise at a reasonable speed when you are doing long distances otherwise you need to be really alert for cops - I am in the same boat as I dont have/dont want a radar detector.

The speeds that you can maintain may vary from state to state.

I remember driving from San Jose, CA to Houston, TX two years back about 1900 miles and averaged about 78mph for the journey. Through most of less populated Arixona, New Mexico and Texas I was cruising at 95 mph but in California I kept it at 80 mph or less.

I also drove once from Houston to Cincinatti (1150 miles) and kept in cruise at 80mph all through. Pretty relaxing drive. Drove from Washington DC to Houston at an average of 70 mph or so.

RC of course is going laugh at these speeds - I am sure he reaches these speeds at the end of his driveway from a standstill :)

I know how you feel, must have been real scary. I was in Vancouver last year and we (my brother and I) were walking through Gastown since its suppose to be a nice historic area...but all we came across were pimps, hookers, drug dealers and homeless guys, and when its getting dark not really what we wanted to see. :?
Nice pics btw, seems like you had fun.....I also was wondering about the purple water?????

You could have relaxed a bit, because it's Canada...nothing compared to the States. I bet you almot none of those guys in B.C. were strapped.

but wats with the purple water?

Ask the city of PA. They had put some sort of purple colourant in the water.

...from a standstill - in reverse.. ;)

Going any distance over the limit without a detector is drivers license suicide. :)

Oh yeah - nice pictures... 9/10 ... ;) - no 10/10 for you :P

We've got plenty of snow here, thank you very much. But I am considering visiting the Scandinavian countries. That would be one cool trip...and a ride in brembo's boat.
