Oh....lol...the Renault Alpine....it has to be either version...the GT Turbo....only this version was on sale in Spain....or the Alpine V6...the version which was on sale in France alongside the GT Turbo.....the exterior of both versions was very similar...so its impossible to distinguish which of them is the car from the pic, altough i think that the car is the GT Turbo one since it was the most selling version of that Alpine shape....BTW,..the car from the pic differs a bit from the stock one since the stock had some BBS (similar to the BMW M3 E-30, the Golf GTI MKII G60, or the Sierra RS Cosworth)...and it didnt have the back wing that the alpine from the pic has............

One thing that I didn't know about that car... it's rear-engined like the 911! It was Capri who told me that... he's like an open book in motor history.

Yep, and its meant to handle very like an early 911 too - light front with a propensity to sudder oversteer.. :) Glasfibre body means no rusting which is good, but the interiors are pretty much contemporary renault 5 - ie lots of cheap plastic, squashy seats and naff fabrics.. not what you really want in an "alleged" supercar.

Not a surprise that not many were sold..

Also, the "alpine" brand rights are not owned by renault outside france (i think) so in the uk the car was branded Renault GTA - shame really as it has proper competition pedigree being manufactured by the same guys who built the sixties alpine rally cars.

Very cheap way to get a hi performance car if you can find one - theses sell for only about 5k or so now.
