Would you cut the grass if you could ride a Lambo or a Ferrari? I think not!

Finally! This topic ought to be here, next to the F355's thread... :D I knew the pics already, but I'm always pleased to look at them again!

Hello old friend .... nice to your pics again ...

Damn I am talking to cars again!

Jabba a few questions/comments:
1. Were the body colour wheels standard?
2. Love the mats - they are like the Keith Collins mats available for Ferraris
3. How long does it take to put the roof back on?
4. Love the way you maintained the interior and exterior - looks brand new
5. Are you considering some Lambo/Ferrari/racing art to complement your lovely machines in the garage?

looks absolutely beautiful jabba. Never realised you had matching plates on the 355 and the lambo. It looks as if it only just fits in the garage!

Gotta love the dice! As AL says - classy!

What a fabulous car, Jabba. And judging from the pics, it's well taken care of. The car looks brand new, not only the exterior shines like it should, also the interior isn't dirty or doesn't have any scratches.

btw, who hit the lamppost in the back of the pics? ;)

Jabba
10-04-2004, 08:00 AM
The previous owners had sadly wrecked the whole place inc knocking the lamposts down. I am slowly getting the place back into shape now after a very long year of hard work.

I was wondering, what car is that in front of the BMW, a Rover 45 or something? Is it yours? Didn't know you had one of those. A 2.0i I suppose?

Nice pics btw, the mansion surely looks good. Kinda reminds me of a Manions from one of the bad guys in a Bond movie 8)

EDIT: oops, forgot to look at the first page first. The diablo looks nice & shiny. If I ever had to sell my house I would rent a Diablo for a day, put it in front of the house and give the pics to the estate agent. I think the value would increase noticibly :D

stradale
10-04-2004, 12:39 PM
Looks like a Rover 8 series to me. Anyway, is there something you'd like to tell us, Jabba?

P.S.: I'm guessing it is a visitor's car....

Cats disentergrated and partly got sucked back into the engine, two new cats required (£6950) (engine management doesnt like it if this one is de-cated) togeather with possible engine rebuild £22,500 also the clutch was on borrowed time and that will be another £4,500...on a ten year old car...so prob will part ex it when I am interested and have more time to get another car.. and hope no one reads this thread in the mean time LOL.

And of course I have other hobbies now to drain all my spare cash, hd home cinema, JW, some other big projects (coming here soon  )

Stoopie
03-08-2007, 01:47 PM

Damn it's true what they say. Supercars ARE expensive to run.

They seem to be fine and then get to a certain age and turn into a money pit fast, last thing I paid out for was a starter motor that was £2,000 plus the transport each way each time which is another £450. Before that we had the well documented cooling system crisis, I don't think I got much change out of £3,000 to have that fixed and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some engine damage due to that actually (it partly overheated)

Main thing that doesn't help IMO is just not having the time to drive them and drive them hard, and the way they are sticking up speeding cameras in the UK, thats gonna be almost impossible soon I guess.

Only directly from Lambo in Italy or through the one main dealer in the UK who gets them from Lambo in Italy, either way they can charge you what they like and know full well you will have to pay it as there is no alternative.

TopGearNL

Nope, there are at least 30 main Ferrari dealers to just one main Lambo one (with two branches).

Supposedly the lack of dealerships should start getting better with the expansion of the Lamborghini network.

It's sad to hear the Diablo is still out of commission, but I guess life has its priorities.

Hopefully the day you'll let go of the Diablo, it will be replaced by another Lambo :P

That sucks. I didn't have many chances to work on Lambos aside from one Miura and a Gallardo. The Miura was pretty much fully restored by the time I had seen it and of course the Gallardo was easy to get parts for as it was and is basically a new car.

Ferrari parts can be like that too some times. I had a hell of a time finding a clutch housing, or whatever you want to call (the piece that you see sticking down a little from the bumper) for a 355 that had fallen off a tow truck and gotten cracked. It wasn't being offered from the factory at that time and my only resort was to dish out $3,000USD to get one from a wrecked car.

Speaking of 355s, have you ever had a valve job done to your car? If so, do you know what kind of valves they used? The steel valves from the factory are super expensive.

Those are some scary numbers for repairs  sob dealers know they can do with the prices whatever they want cause you have no choise, you can't just take welding machine few parts from other cars and put it all togeather (like I'd do it with my e30 ) or go to the Lambo scrapyard and buy a part for a few pounds :?

I hope you'll change it soon for something newer
