i would say buy a 996 turbo, worth every penny, then, trade it in for a new 997 turbo..might have to wait a lil but but, also worth it

Buy the turbo now and when you get bored with it or when you want the new one, then trade.

Definetly buy the Turbo now...the 997 won't even be that much different most likely, just uglier.

thanks heaps for the input totally appreciate it. The GT3RS I like as well however I want the cake and want to eat the lot hence I'm looking at the 996TT in the Cab version. Ok decision made then.............again thanks

Yeah, I like the 996 more too, especially the headlights, even though they aren't "traditional porsche". I think it looks modern and very proggressive. Probably because all the new cars have this single cluster headlamps.

Where as teh 997 looks retro.

But that is just me though ;) .

So you've driven/seen the 997TT?!?!? What factory do you work at? I've visited the Cayenne/CGT factory in Leipzig when we picked our Cayenne TT up there... Gorgeous....

, just uglier.

Uglier????

The 997 is what the 996 should have been, although the 996 is a great car, obviously!

Well ... if I had the money, I'd buy a 993 Turbo S :P
But that's not the question for the moment ... I think I'd buy a 996 Turbo S cab instead of waiting for the 997 TT

Get a 997S and upgrade to a Turbo when it comes out. Or buy a used 996TT, one whose owner has taken on the early depreciation ;)

everyone is right buy now trade later, it will cut the cost down too. :) But don't mess up the 996 or the cost will get higher

GT3 gets my vote. A driver's car for sure and you won't loose too much money when you trade in for a 997TT. If you get a 996TT the depreciation will be more than a GT3 compared.

Id go w/the Turbo now. There is no reason to wait untill the 997 turbo comes out. If you have enough money to throw down on a 996 turbo then the upgrading Idea that everyone is saying would work perfect. You will be in no way dissapointed by the 996 tt, they are simply amazing cars that go like hell. If It were me on the otherhand I would go with the GT3, 380 n/a hp 8200 redline............. but very different cars. Good luck with your choice.
