That's a really interesting article, especially the point about changing through gears at 8000 RPM with a manual box compared with SMG III.

Thanks alot, that was cool. Too bad about Bangle, would have been nice to hear what he had to say, and it was good to hear a factory/engineer's prespective of the SMG. I still would rather it had a clutch pedal, but what can you do?

thats kind of what you have to deal with though to get the most power from full length headers. you actually get less restriction with them and the suction effect that is created when the gasses hit the collectors actually speeds up the flow from the next cylinder which means you have less inert gas in the cylinder when it pulls in the A/F mixture. side effect is that it creates a vacuum in the cylinder before it begins traveling down on the intake stroke so it speeds up the mixture coming in allowing it to take up even more volume :D
more air and fuel = more power which is directly proportional to the :mrgreen: and :twisted: effects. And isn't that what we're all after? :wink:

Interesting article. Had no idea that BMW had to buy over people from AMG 8)
