if i have a mac notebook and i have the airport card, but i also have a pc with a us robotics wireless card and the router is us robotics.

of course that the pc its going to comunicate with the router, but the router will comunicate with the MAC?

im planning to buy a mac, with the airport card but i want wireless connectiono in my new house, but my sis haves a pc notebook, and we are going to buy us robotics gear, my question is that if would it be compatible with the mac card?

If the router and mac both are working on the same wireless protocol (eg 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g) then yes they will work.

if you get the ibook the answer would be no. on a powerbook with a pcmcia slot then maybe. then again all powerbooks have them preinstalled.

It should work just fine, my cousin is using a wireless router instead of Airport with his iMac and his Powerbook has built in Airport and it gets the signal just fine

you DONT need to match venders just make sure you match the protocol. If you had to match venders then wireless would be a joke.
