AFAIK, radar detectors aren't allowed, but there are other "services" like a pager with a phone number, where ppl call when they spot a radar and owners of the pager are informed in real time about new sightings and so on..
And local radio stations do the same. ppl can phone them and between two songs they let you know where to pay attention...

Because it's not illegal to sell them, only to use them. Pretty stupid, but that is how it is.
Like I already said, they are legal here, but scanners and laser jammers are not.

In holland, they are not allowed.

O yes, they are.

Originally the plan was to ban them starting october 1st, but it has been postponed. And if use and sale are prohibited, it might not be for a long time. The prohibition is believed to be in conflict with the constitution. A wellknown and very good lawyer is already waiting for a testcase to try if the government decides to go ahead with it.

Slovenia: legal, no problem. Cops even helped me test some. But they dont work too good with the radard our police use (very low pover). Also they use less and less radar, more laser and camer in civilian cars ...

for radar detectors, here in pennsylvania, USA, it's legal to make them, it's legal to sell them, it's legal to own them, but it's illegal to use them... go figure

Where I am, it's yes and no. In the state I'm in, it's legal. In DC and Virginia, it's not legal to have a detector (not that it stops anyone from hiding it, when they can.... ) Didn't know PA just made them illegal, KaBlookie. Thanks for the heads-up on that one. I'll just have to rig my remote display on my Valentine 1 a little better :)

Radar and laser jammers are considered broadcasting devices, IIRC, and are regulated by Federal broadcasting rules.
