Here is some pics and info on the new Nissan Altima SE-R. I searched and didn't find this posted yet.

Nissan Announces 2005 Altima SE-R Pricing

GARDENA, Calif. (September 8, 2004) - Nissan North America, Inc., today announced 2005 model year pricing for the exciting new Altima SE-R. Taking its “high performance – high value” SE-R philosophy to the next level, the Altima SE-R features a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $29,200. The Altima SE-R goes on sale at Nissan dealerships nationwide in late September.

The Altima sedan was completely redesigned for the 2005 model year with both exterior and interior refinements. The Altima SE-R, the sixth model in the Altima lineup, shares those same features, and then some. The Altima SE-R’s standard 3.5-liter V6 engine has been retuned to a higher level of performance (260 hp vs 250 hp for non SE-R models) and the suspension has been enhanced with performance-tuned front struts and rear shocks, stiffer front and rear springs and thicker front and rear stabilizer bars. The SE-R comes with 225/45R18 Y-speed rated tires and 18-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels.

The SE-R’s exterior offers a number of special features, including new front and rear fascias, compact fog lights, new rear spoiler and side sill spoilers and large dual exhaust finishers. Inside, the SE-R features sport-shaped leather-appointed front seats with red or gray leather inserts, dark chrome trim and a three-pod center-mounted gauge package, which is similar to that found on the legendary 350Z.

Nissan also announced a $50 increase on all other Altima models and a $50 increase on the Sunroof option. Complete pricing and option packages are available on the attached sheets.

The 2005 Altima brings a blend of performance, style and value that is unmatched in the mid-size sedan segment. With its distinctive exterior design, choice of powerful 4-cylinder or V6 engines, performance-oriented suspension and fresh interior, Altima injects passion into the marketplace and offers an escape from the traditional four-door sedan.

Anonymous looks. No detailing in the exterior. A bit too boring for me.

Those rims are just wrong.

that looks like a really fun car. i'm not too incredibly fond of the overall styling (from the side, the rear end looks weird, and the whole car looks a bit too "tall"-ish for my taste), but I trust that Nissan will pull this off and release this fun relatively-affordable sedan.
