Well, when I took the pics of F50 and Enzo they asked me to send them some pics... so I did :D "you never know" as they say..

well, today I already get an answer from the director of the Garages (both Sion and Lausanne's).. thanking me a lot for the pics, asking me if I can produce more so we could put them on a CD (no idea why, I don't really care LOL).. and in exchange for that, the words he used are:

contre partie je vous organise un essai d'une belle Ferrari.

And in english it would be something like
and in exchange, I will organize a testdrive of a nice Ferrari

Do I need to tell you all I am completely speechless?!?!?

I love to take pics, I really love.. so it's no effort really.. and to send 7 to them was not a difficult task.. and to send all the others will be quite easy.. a CD costs how much? 50 cents.. and in exchange I will drive a fucking Ferrari?!?!?!? Yes I need to tell you: "I AM SPEECHLESS".

He gave me his mobile phone number and I suppose I will call him this Monday even if I barely dare to do something like taking the wheel of a ferrari, even just a Mondial :D

And to think if I take all my pics it is mostly because I love to show and share them with you all ;) I sure love to keep them for myself for the future too, but I doubt I would be so active if it was for me only :D So basically thanks to JW I already had a ride as a passenger in an Enzo (and that's already enough for a couple of lifes), I now took pics of yellow F50 and Enzo together (quite rare) and thanks to that I will DRIVE a Ferrari! I can't really complain!
Right after posting the topic I had to go out for a quick spin to try to shake away the excitment, I drove liek 15 min and I saw a 328 and a 512TR.. I call this "persecution" :D

No shit, I'm really so happy, I would like things like this could happen to more of us! Sure if everybody could drive a Ferrari, probably the whole Ferrari experience-cult wouldn't be the same, but still, we are a bunch of car nuts and I almost feel guilty to be (lately) so lucky!

Lets face it, odds are I'll never own one and the odds are extremely stacked against me that I'll even see one. So, as scared as I would be, I'd definately take the offer!

Recipe for the best day ever:
Pick up the car and then go surprise your girl with it.
Take her out to lunch (a quick one, need time for the car LOL)

Yep I see what you mean, but the point is I am no professional photographer. And they know it as much as I do ;) they are maybe just clever, seeing an opportunity for free pics, but it's not like fooling me since I am aware of this opportunity and still their offer seems great! Of course if I could find a way to become some sort of part time photographer for them, it would be great, but I don't really see why they should need more than a couple of pics if not just for personal pleasure

The 355 is a really nice car to drive. I hope you get a proper manual box, as driving one without the clunk-click-clunk of a gear change, just ain't right IMO. If you get a 355/360 they are surprisingly easy to drive. The clutch does not take the worlds strongest man to depress e.t.c

Remember, if you get a reputation they may invite you back :wink: So be sure to hint that you are willing to take pics any time. 8) Getting in a photographer, or even taking the pics themselves costs a lot in time and money. Well I went there just to catch up with mister the director but he was busy with an F50 test drive for a customer wanting to buy it!!! Remember, 700'000 CHF ;)

So I had to sit in a Ferrari dealership for around 40 minutes (heaven for me just to sit there), but then I had to pick up my girlfriend in town and I had to go right when the F50 came back.. so everything is postponed, but it's not too bad since I heard and saw the F50 moving!!!!!! And even if they asked me not to take pics since there was the customer around, I snapped one right from my car when leaving ;) the customer is inside, driving it so you can see him, that's ok for everybody I guess..

As Jabba was saying to me, probably he just bought them but not "in the open".. no idea exactly how, but trying to avoid beeing taxed on them or something similar... so he wants to be stealth.. probably he is not the kind of person driving his cars around..

Still, two cars in a dealership, with no plates, nobody sitting in them... plain idiocy if you ask me..

Hehe thanks for the support guys! As you can see on my website, I removed all the pics.. I even changed the top banner in the homepage... http://www.swisscarsightings.com/ I think it's not even that bad.. the Enzo and F50 only appear in the little thumbs in the archive now and the Enzo is used for the top bar in the pages, not that big of a deal I think but I could quickly change this if they will ask..

I removed the pics 3 hours after I got the email, not really how I like to do things (way too slow ;)), but I hope they will understand I respect the owner decision and so on..
And to think I even considered trying to contact him for a proper photoshoot in a nice location LOL.. quite the other way around... well I guess his two cars are just two more supercars that will disappear for a whole generation untill somebody will take them out of a garage again...

Anyway I replied explaining the situation, my feeling and so on, giving also a small hint about the ferrari test LOL, and asking if there is still interest in my pics, but well, since they were interested in the F50+Enzo pics, and since they were by far the best ones I took there.. and since the owner doesn't want his cars to appear in pics, I doubt there is still interest in them...
I sure hope this situation won't compromise my future "can I take some pics" days...

As always, you will know any news as soon as I will have some... fingers crossed but I fear I don't have enough of them ;)

Here is the last update.. today I passed in front of the dealership for a morning check up ( ;) ) and well, the F50 is gone.. actually, also the F40 is. and i'm pretty sure it is owned by the same guy.. before test driving the F50 he actually popped open the engine cover of the F40 and was checking it like if it was his car, not sure if you understand what I mean, but he wasn't like somebody checking out somebody else's car.. still, he did everything with a strange urge, the more I think about him the more I wonder LOL.. I even tried cross his busy view to make him understand how lucky he is, how I envy him and love his cars and blah balh, but he sure wasn't cooperating LOL..

Anyway, again, F50 and F40 are gone, the Enzo is still there, probably the truck (since I really doubt he drove them or at least one of them, but stilll) wasn't big enough for the three of them... I fear the Enzo could be gone today too and then the only nice and rare car left in there will be a 400 Automatic (wich I love LOL)

Ah and still no answer to my email but he seems to write his emails in the evening.

Hows this for an idea....I think before someone is allowed to buy a Ferrari they must pass a theory test on the cars (e.g. at least know how many cylinders the car has :D ) and then sign a contract agreeing to drive them a minimum number of days a year. :D Oh and also allowing fanatics/fans (like TT and others on here) to take photos whenever they want. :wink:

That sucks but at the end of the day it is the rich wankers right to veto.
Took some footage of the new EVO 8 at the local Mitsubishi dealer the other day. The boss/staff loved it(gave them a free copy for distribution to cust/demo) and let me do whatever I wanted except start it!( in the showroom. Got to sit in it check out the undercarriage/engine, which for an Japanese/genaral car freak like me was super cool!).
Asked before started shooting, and after edited it gave them the power to veto/ suggest changes that they would like.
And get this, they offered me a ride in it! I drove past today and it is out the front and registered! Going in to hit them up tommorow!
They have got it for a couple of months for evaluation purposes(just on sale here in OZ, think all 100 are sold :( ) so I had better be quick!
Oh, and on the same day went to the local merc dealer and they had a SL55 AMG in the showroom. They are an amazing car to witness in person, got permission to shoot it (plus 2003 STI) and the bloke started it up to show me the roof in action and gave it a blip! :D
It was second hand, 1700kms on the clock, $340000 Australian Peso.
Get this, it is owned by the same guy who bought the EVO, and it is rarely if ever seen on the road :(

It might be different in Adelaide, but the dealers in Perth are fine with me taking pictures (I've posted pics from the Ferrari, Maserati and Audi/Lambo dealers)...but they rarely get new cars so its not like I go back every week (like certain people we know :wink: ).
