Do you mean a tripod? :P Sorry couldn't resit :) I just prefer good old hardware than superhypertechno software :D
Sadly I don't own a videocamera and am I completely unaware about what is required these days to have a good one.. I will just keep an eye on this topic in case it could be usefull for me too ;)

I have a Panasonic NV-GS15 which has the anti shake you talk of. It works well. However, the picture quality is not great (take a look at my post in General 'jon_s's summer project') they are all pics from the camera.
It performs well, although it does have a slightly grainy video picture. Which is shocking for a £500+ camera. I had no choice as it was a replacement camera. I am sure you can find better for that price.
What is your price limit?
edit: here it is....the price has fallen a lot since I got it lol

One tip, don't go after the number of megapixels a camera has, look at the sample pics and see the color outcome. 99% of the time you won't be using the maximum resolution of your camera anyways.
Isn't he looking for a VIDEO camera?

I have bought 2 new Digital camcorders recently.
Settled for a pair of Sony Digital8 TRV350's.
Good enough output and a crazy $100 each price :)
Buying hardware that is "old" tech can save you lots of money. The cameras may be "old tech" but they are still extremely capable.
