The rumours were indeed true

On the 4th December 2003, AML confirmed all those rumours that they would be returning to international motor racing. This follows on from the creation of a new division within the company to be known as Aston Martin Racing. The Aston Martin Racing programme will be overseen by Aston Martin’s Product Development & Motor Sport Director, Jeremy Main, and run in conjunction with Prodrive, one of the world’s leading motor sport specialists. Prodrive will be responsible for the design and development of the cars as well as overseeing their performance when racing. Development of the new race car, based on the V12 engined DB9 started late in 2003.

The new official Aston Martin Racing website now says that the new car will be called the DBR9 - this is just what I guessed back in December, you heard it here first. The first official press release picture above shows a road going DB9 (Japanese Motor Show Car?), the 1959 Le Mans winning DBR1/2 and a example of the 1989 AMR1 (Aston Martin Heritage Trust Car?).

14th July 2004

Aston Martin has just released this Photoshop image of the DBR9 - don't expect the car to look exactly like this as but it may be a reasonable indicator.

The first DBR9 is being prepared now and will compete during 2005 in selected international sports car events, including the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. Three Aston Martin Racing Works teams will then be appointed to compete in major international sports cars series. These will be independent teams each racing two DBR9s with the full factory support of Aston Martin Racing.

Aston Martin Racing will also make a very limited number of DBR9 racing cars available to selected customers. These cars will be prepared to the same specification as the Works cars.

I will be making every effort to get pictures of the race cars later in 2004 and attend as many events as my schedule allows.

Hmmm... the text is new to me, but the news is old.... welcome to last month dude :roll:

I suggest you use the "Search" function before posting

Also, you should really learn the layout of JW, sit back, and watch how the forum works, then you can slowly begin to post your comments, and your own topics... i hope you stick around, but these actions are gonna start gettin on peoples nerves ... just some friendly advice :D

{EDIT}

i even told you about this in another topic.. you replied thanks for the tips.. use them :wink:

A few problems

1 - Old

2 - Two posts?

3 - Wrong section

You are very new here, and i advise that you look around before posting, especially your own topics. Try to get used to the layout, and the "Search" Function to avoid embarassment.

Either way, i hope you get your act together, and start to become a JW regular

{EDIT 2}

TT will be angry... and he will probably remove this thread, as posted in the other thread

TT - I suggest ban him, then send him an email with a few rules that he must adhere to to return, and if he seems to take the advice, let him back on. Reminds me of Ford Capri... and look at him now, his posts are much more intelligent :D
