is it possible to have a supercharger and a turbocharger at the same time in a car?

theoretically yes because the supercharger runs off the crank, the turbo from the exhaust gasses, not sure if its practically possible though

It is possible and it has been done...even for street applications! Just recall the Koenig Testarosa. It had a supercharger for low-rev grunt and two turbos for high RPM power.

does it have negative side on reliability and such?

very negative on reliability when you push that much boost into a car. It isn't cost effective, nor practical. Possible but difficult, also you need alot of room.

yeah there are several examples
in japan HKS made a addon for the MK1 MR2s called the "twincharger" and it had a supercharger and a turbo on the 1.6 motor in a mr2 and it was pretty awesome
recently in turbo magazine the have a 3 liter v6 in a 2nd gen mr2 and they are running the TRD supercharger and a turbo on the v6...it makes around 530hp

tit has the drawbacks of any forced induction setup

why would it neccesarily have bad reliability, surely it would have the same sort of effect on pressure as a twin turbo would?
