A couple things come to mind.

First off.. I have always had no patience/sympathy for people that are so lazy that they have to "hire maids" to clean up their own mess.. ;) (general house keeping is one thing - but shaving it so the "hired help" has to dust and clean your display shelfs.. you learn the hardway I guess  )

Second... NEVER EVER let anyone clean your display models... EVER.. ;)

But I am guessing you learned.

I wish i could fire my mum. I used to have my cars on a shelf - i got about 15 of em, all 1:18 and virtually every time she cleaned em, she broke something from them. You's come back to find aerials gone, wing mirror's missing. It got like a joke in the end, you could make a game out of it - "what item of car will have snapped off this time???" Fortuenately i have since moved to another room, and put my cars on top of a wardrobe, unreachable by my 5ft mother :P

Oh - the poor idle rich and their domestic staffing problems.

This discovery of the number of people who have cleaning staff pickup after them is quite telling.. ;)

Bunch of spoiled pussies.. :P

:)

If you want a job doing properly than do it yourself...all cleaners are CRAP.

People are always so amazed that I do all my own house work...but without being big headed ...none of them can even come close to my level of expectation.

Hehe, wise words and it's the same for me usually, at least for the things I love the most :D

But my family had a "maid".. a woman that basically came to our house 3 times a week to clean and stuff... Mimi it's how I called her (and still do ;)).. she was around before I was born and I grew up with her around the house.. now she is over 70 and stopped of course, but in around 30 years of loyal service she never broke or did anything wrong, NEVER.. and she was also some sort of babysitter for me, part of the family even! I guess we were lucky :D

i don't really know...I wasn't in the room when he woke up in hospital the next day....
just kidding...

Actually, he was about 5 years old, and i was like 9... but it was never the same since... if you look in 'Scale Models' forum, and look for my post "My Collection..." you will see the damage

I told my one to call it a day...when I saw her heading towards my model enzo with a scrubbing brush thing....I always end up having to do everything again....as its just not up to standard....I am sure there are good cleaners out there...but so far its zero out of six for me...and I am a bit fed up with the idea now....

maid damage is avoidable, however moving cross country can be quite harrowing for all models. you can't see it in the pic, one of the oil radiators on the Enzo got knocked loose which required me to cut the engine cover off and reset, and one of the control arms on the rear also got knocked out, but there is no way in hell i am taking that much of he car apart.
The 'Vette has some paint missing from the opposite rear fender too.

both my impalas fell victim to my brother, the purple one is missing its steering wheel and rearview mirror and the yellow one has it's front bumper glued back on.
