If you had a budget of 1000000 Euros, and it was compulsory to spend the million of euros by taking part in any car race, which car race challenge would you spend, regardless the type of race car such as rallying, any GT championship, a world championsip, a european championship, etc...............?

According to my knowledge, compiting 8 races held in Europe in the world championship of group N with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII costs about the million euros for a european driver

Once im a big fan of rally cars, id spend the million € in compiting 5 races of the rallying world championship instead (the Tour de Corse, the Catalonia, and the German rallyes, once my favourite course for a rally is the tarmac, as well as the Swedish and the Finland rallyes once they are very special rallyes), and id invest the rest of the budget in renting a racetrack in order to set up the car, and get used to the car(i dont have very good skills on limit when driving any car)

^^ LOL

I don't even understand the question... i don't know what the budgests are, but for 1million euro's i could probably do half a qualifying session with Ferrari F1 :P

BTW - Ford Capri.... which car would you drive, and also, which country are you from/living in???

Ok, my first answer was spontaneous and somehow i couldnt help myself, i don't know why. After some deep thinking (yes i know you won't believe it but it happens, like miracles  ), here is my final approach to this dilema (or dalama  ): gimme the money first :D and try to catch me running to my car challenge  .

Is this One million Euros for the car only, or does it have to cover spare parts, mechanics, pit crew and all the other extras that most people don't think about?

If it's for the car only, Maserati MC12, just because.
If it has to cover everything, one million euros could go a long way with a Corvette in the Speed World Challenge.

If just for the car I would not know where to begin.
For a car, the truck, a few extra engines, 5 sets of wheels, tires, pit crew, tools, all other spare parts, either a Corvette or CTS-V they both seem to be doing well in races hell I could buy both and transplant the engine between the 2

I would compete in one or two of the ALMS or Rolex series. These are seriously competative in the GT classes. Get a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and have some serious fun. I have friends that would pit for the fun of it. Racing is about fun, but if i was givin 1 million Euros, i would have to agree with X-ale and say that it would be the catch me to my car challenge. Then I would spend it on my 3060 Modena, 911 Turbo, and a Carrara GT for track days.

You wouldn't do too well with a GT3 RS in ALMS, you would get your ass handed to you by all the other cars.

To make the statement clear...sorry in necessary.....in the already comented 1000000 euros were included all the stuff required to compete in any challenge, such as the mechanics, the wheels, the license for running, the spare parts of the cars, the costs of getting some privates sessions on a race track to set up the car.........the costs of renting or purchasing the motorhome, the registration fees for the races.........

Hmmm... Nice topic m8. Very interesting. I would either enter DTM, with a M3(e46) GTR, or an Alfa Romeo 155 DTM, or I would choose to enter into a historical car series, with an Alfa Romeo TZ2, or a GTAm, or a M3(e30).
