Which car would you take to run from the cops?

Lets say that you were in L.A., no police helicopters only police cars, and there is medium traffic (not rush hour). Which car would you take to lose the cop cars?

I would personally take the Enzo cause it has excellent handling, acceleration, and braking.

Actually they would... without choppers and the news crews to gte in the way - you are on the freeway - they will radio ahead and lay spike strips.. Enzo or not, you are not going anywhere.

If the chase drops to urban streets, the Enzo would be at best pulling doughnuts by the second intersection... or at worst backing into a tree.. ;) Remember - we have proof of how non-rac car drivers are able to handle Enzos on urban streets - they crash them... :P

I agree with RC45 a Cop car is your best bet. If your running from the cops it's most likely a robbery in which case you couldn't afford an Enzo. you need a getaway car, you can leave a Cop car running unlocked with the door open and the odds of it being stolen are extremely low, so it's easy to get in and run. You already have the radio so you know what they are planning and you could even call in the robbery your self and say you saw them get into a beige Lincoln Town Car and you would have every old person in the city getting pulled over.

I'd get something that didn't take up alot of space on the roads (a bike would be perfect, but the thread starter said car specifically) and sticks like glue to the tarmac, sort of like an Elise/Exige. Or even something like the scaffolding on wheels , Ariel Atom. Basically small, light & nimble, with excellent brakes. Top end speed isn't too important IMHO.

Choppers may not be fast in a straight line, but they can go 'as the crow flies' so to speak. Which gives it a much greater advantage.

do you guys realize that robbing a bank or something usually means you are already broke so getting your hands on a car like some of you are suggesting is very hard to do and you probably wouldn't be driving it around if you have stolen it because if you steal cars you usually sell them immediately.

Cop cars are cheap to buy at auction and already you have the exact same car they have then just pour a litle bit of money into it and your good to go and you still spent very little on the car. read my earlier post it would work.

Fun factor car I'd go for a Noble M12 or something with crazy acceleration and immense handling.

In a bike u can't do it because there are no fields or forest, just guardrails everywhere, cop car is out too 'cause cops aren't morons, after all they are chasing u. No never, it can't be done. What you need is the Doc's delorean, and even then u need to get it to 70mph.

First off, I agree with TT. Running from the cops is stupid. The chances you'll not get into trouble deeper than you already are are practically non-existent.

I reckon you'd need a compact 4wd car with plenty of pace. I saw a chase on TV once where a couple of guys had robbed a jewellery or something like that at night. The getaway cars were a Scooby WRX and a Mitsubishi Evo. The cops had much slower cars of course, but they also had a helicopter. The two cars went separate ways and the helicopter had to choose. They decided to follow the Evo, but the police had a lot of trouble keeping up, even after one of the tyres blew up. Eventually they were caught, but the Scooby got away.

Of COURSE!!! If you are in the middle of a city, why do you need such a powerful car such has an Enzo or a Gallardo? They are far too big and too fast for the traffic!
And a bike?? If you had robbed anything, where would you take the things?
A Westfield, or a XTR2?? If someone in the middle of the traffic hits you, your cars are too fragile, and would break right there!
A tank?? That is far too obvious... you would never get out of the cops sight!! As soon has you run out of fuel they would catch you... you would have to leave to eat something!

The ideal car is a car that moves well in a city, that it is small, and don't need to go more faster than 125mph / 200km/h. It's fair enough for the city!! And as soon has you loose the cops you need to hide it somehere!! Where would you hide a tank or an anfibious vehicle?? And an Enzo?? As soon as you passed my a JW member.. everybody in the internet would know that there was an Enzo parked in that area, with pictures and everything!!!

PERFECT solution! A 3-cylinder geo metro. Its just a little bigger than the original mini, it will out distance the cops on fuel consumption, and will blend in perfectly in traffic with all the huge SUV's and semi-trucks on the road :D and if worse comes to worse, just pull down an alley and park behind a dumpster. with a few cardboard boxes and you're out of sight...literally :D

Wolfster might actually have a point....the cops would be much less hesitant to blow out the tires at high speed or attempt the pit manouver if someone as prominent as the pope were in the vehicle. Just think of the backlash that would create if something were to happen because of the cops.
