Who wants to have a drift session? we could have judges, then have some people drifting while the others judge. WHat track is really good for drifting? the Sqaure Yokohoma track is pretty good but i think the Moscow track would be the best since its so wide open.

Drifter wannabes you can only run Nurburgring 10x in a row before you gotta do something else. also its actually hard to hold a drift in the game its easy to oversteer to much and spin or stall out.

How Drifting will be judged:

Points will be given out based upon what type of car you are driving. If you are in a FWD car and you get it sideways you will get +1 point, if you are driving a Low Torque car you will get 1 point extra. It will also be decided on how close you can come to the wall without touching it if this is possible in the area we are in. the points level is to 10. The longer you can hold your drift the more points you will get, also the further sideways you go without actually spinning out you will get points. I think this is fair as it makes the competition alittle harder.

also control after the drift is complete will get you point, say if you make a great drift but if you fuck up the exit you will loose some points. Also there will be a warmup session where you can get 3 warm up runs before you decide you are ready, you do not have to take all 3, but they will help you get familiar with the track and the corner.

Yeah - it was a good time. Notice how our masterful conversation skills and idle banter had the game running 8 players for almost the entire time.

8 players was definately pretty fun :) perhaps part of the help was restricting the use of the ultimates? i think that made it quite fun with different classes of cars

i bought PGR2 the day it came out (11/18/03) while living in kalamazoo, and not owning my own xbox. so i played on my roommates box. by may of this year, i had all but 3 platinums, which im quite convinced i could get it down to all but 1 platinum with a few more hours work.
only one medal seems to be unobtainable... the 'sports compact' speed camera for 93 mph... impossible!

so about a month ago, i bought myself an xbox, and started over, which is why i dont have very many cars available yet. you were pretty good yourself :)

it's not THAT impossible, you have to use the Focus and after you take the first turn you have to go really close to the inside barrier of the second turn and same for the third turn but the trick is to keep the revs high and stay in a high gear. it's hard but after about 30-45 min you'll get it. (that's how long it took me back in March)

i spent at least 3 hours on it the last time i tried... quite regularly hitting 95 before the camera cuts away, then the game made outrageous claims i was only going 92 mph :(

try to get a really long combo going, like about x30 combo per cone challenge at least and you should get gold.

On a side note, if u wanna go for platinum and the Speed 12 then you'll have to complete the cone challenges by going through all of the cones but not letting the combo lock in, which is hard for some.

Same here! By far the best car on that game! And with the upgraded sound... to die for really.

I don't use the other cars that much since I have more fun on the 360, but the Zonda is also sweet (tough on the slow circuits it just doesn't feel at home) and the GTO is quite a challenge too. :D

I also don't use the 'Ring that often, since the scenery is still pretty poor and takes away a bit of the fun, but I have all the tracks available except Imola, Suzuka and Monza which I couldn't find yet.

By the way, have you seen the NetKar Pro screenshots? The 'Ring looks AMAZING. Should be released in a couple of months, but it seems that it won't have the 360 anymore... :(


Anyway, due to school I'll only be able to play online on Tuesday or so... If you're still interested in a little online race, just say which days/hours are the best for you, so we can set up things. :D

It is addictive as hell.

And we found the AC2 Download Content - so before we can egt to Brotherhood we have to make our way through all of renaissance AC2.
Assassins Creed is AWESOME! I love the whole revised? (;) conspiratory history. I haven't done any of the DLC myself... not enough space on the old 20 gig xbox HDD. Speaking of which, is AC for xbox or PS3 that you have? (Mine are all xbox)... brotherhood has an online multiplayer deal that is reasonably fun.

And yeah, the problem with the whole "Conspiracy Theory" storyline and a very well read 12 year old is she scoffs at the absurdity of their "theories" LOL

But the game is fun.

One quesion we have is that in AC2, when you "complete it" will you be able to go back and still free roam and collect all the treasures etc and just enjoy the entire environment - or is it closed off once you are done?

AC1 you can revisit any DNA event
AC2 you can review the the DNA event, but never revisit it... You CAN go anywhere once the game is complete in the historical world
ACB you can revisit any DNA memory, and free roam... be sure to get 100% synchronization... albeit, I haven't played since I hit 93% sync, so I don't know if you get anything extra.

AC2 has a much larger world than ACB, but there is something really cool about going over all the architecture of 2000 years in one small district :) After playing ACB, I realized there is a small chance of reliving the life of Brutis. Ubisoft wont release another Assassins Creed game until 2012...

It's too bad you cannot replay the ending of any of the games independently... so youtube is the best way to 'beat' the game again:P

We may have gone a little overboard - I have tracked down an unused AC2 Collectors Edition with unused codes :) :laugh: :twisted:

Not that I am aware of, however... don't forget to log into uplay especially for AC2... you unlock the Auditore family crypt.

I never did the guides, as I have no intention on finding all the stupid feathers in AC2, or all the silly flags in AC1. ACB... they put them on a map you can buy in-game; so I have all but a few of the temple flags. It really is a fun series in terms of the story, intuitive gameplay (much improved in AC2/ACB), and GTA-like free roaming map and story interactions. Just for fun I still put in AC1 periodically still... afterall, Altaire is one bad ass mofo in the Holy Land :)

ACB is almost too easy though... yeah we just like the hardcover coffee table style guides for games we enjoy.

the first one is the best one. I wish they'd make a 'Halo HD' like Polyphony made GT4 HD. That said, it may be a mediocre FPS, however it is an excellent multiplayer game ;)

Sadly, it is manual. But fairly easy... took about 30 minutes +-... and very easy to update.

If it were automated, I'm sure Polyphony would put an end to the game-save trick

Oh, a lot has "gone on" here. :lol: I am already on my second T500RS. First one was returned because the fan flaked out. I may have been one of the very first adopters in the USA. Had one since Jan 4th I believe.

I had popped over to GTPlanet a while back and stayed to ask about the GT2RS early December. A month later I am almost banned for bumping heads with idiots and being willing to openly critique the lofty Fanatec and TM wheels.. which really puzzled me as I seem to be one of the few people who was abe to back to back to back test the G25 vs GT2RS vs T500RS. But that didnt stop an entire squadron of GTPlanateers from pissing and moaning for 2 weeks solid. ;)


What made you want to try the TM wheel in the first place, and how much better is it than the GT2?

I figured if it was crap I could sell it on eBay as the demand is pretty high right now...but the real real reason was Fanatec still hadnt delivered the Clubsport Pedals so I never got to try the "full package".

The TM is just more "solid and brutal" than the "refined and overly complex" GT2.

I love the adjustability of the GT2 that lets you "tweak' it. But the T500 just works well enough to not really need tweaking.

The GT2 feels like an expensively modded G25 - which is not a bad thing, just that the T500 has its own personality - and combined with the CSP's on the PC works really well.

The T500 pedals in GT5 are very good as well. Not quite the same as the CSP's in GT5, but the wheel more than makes up for it for me.

Damnit to hell! Now I want a new wheel. I just can't justify 5, or is it 600, for something I don't use enough.

I did the 20 miniute NASCAR event a number of times and dragegd them all into the teens.

This was enough to get me to Lvl 25 b-spec - now I have a 4 man b-spec team doing the 4 hour Miata endurance.

Maybe that is the trick of it; not everybody wants to get their bob's up to 40 the normal way; or do the same race time and time again. I don't blame them.

I don't want to do the A-spec endurance races more than once, and honestly, I have no intention of doing the 24 h races until Kazunori lets us save game in the pits. I may be waiting a long time, but I don't want to leave my ps3 on for a month at a time while I attempt it.
