Here's a video featuring an ex FIA GT Porsche 996 GT3 RS EVO on the Dutch racetrack Zandvoort. I recorded it last weekend during the Marlboro Masters / EuroGT event. The car is driven by Charles Brugman of the Porsche Lammertink team.

The recording of the sound isn't perfect, with some annoying clipping problems.

Note how the black/orange 993 GT2 overtakes the green Marcos Mantis on the left side...

Just watched it and it's really good, one of the "must have " video for sure. Thank you again very much :D

But, just one thing. Did the other have rain tyres while he had slicks ? Because he overtakes them so easilly :?:

Very good Vid, thank you. I Agree with yg60m, Sure if he have same tyres this guy rule... nobody can blow a modena like that :D.

Zandvoort seem to be a man track, lots of fast curves

Thanks for the feedback.

It was an official race, so every car was fitted with high performance racing slicks. This car drove in the N-GT class, the 'slower' class of this series. Some cars didn't have the performance to compete with the front row of the N-GT class, although all the GT3 RS Porsches have the same spec.

Looked like the 360 had some traction problems by the way.

This is a must have video and a must have car.

Love those onboard videos, especially when Porsches are involved.

Thanks again!

I rank it alongside the V8 Star video on the Nurburgring that was posted here some weeks ago :D Very impressive as well, sound, speed, everything was there to enjoy !!

Wow, thanks for this great video, I’ll get a change to drive on the Zandvoort track in September and this video gives me a better understanding of the corners, braking points etc.

I saw a little bit of the Master on TV: is it correct that John Bosch was there with 4 of his F1 cars: Ferrari F1 1998,1999, 2001,2002?
And did I see our Prime Minister, Balkenende, in the passenger seat of a F360 N-GT and an Enzo?

Ps. I took my avatar picture some years ago at the Masters of F3 in Zandvoort.

Thanks for the video, Jordy. After hearing this car with my own ears at Assen on 1 august I can understand you've experienced some clipping problems. It was the loudest car of the bunch. I look forward to seeing this one! :D

That's right. He drove one himself and the other ones were driven by Jan Lammers, René Arnoux and Jacky Ickx. Zandvoort is a disaster to travel to and from, especially in the hot weather, so unfortunately I didn't see them in action.

What are driving at Zandvoort and at what occasion if I may ask?

What are driving at Zandvoort and at what occasion if I may ask?
Toyota Circuit Experience, organized by Louwman Toyota importer and Rensportschool Zandvoort (with Tom Coronel etc.). It’s a circuit driving training for Toyota owners.
I will be driving my Toyota (Camry V6), so it wont be as exciting as the Porsche from the video.

BTW what happened with the car in the video? I found this picture of it, made during the Masters 2004:

Next time, instead of messing up the page with a 3008 pixels wide pictures and a VERY long url, just post the url of the pic and use tinyurl.com to shorten the long one ;)

Sorry for messing up JW  and thanks for the tinyurl.com tip.
So now I know you’re not all fans of high res. pictures, like Erez_ from Israel (3008x2000 pixel, just the thing for Jabba style monitor setups).

I love high-res pics and have many of them, but I prefer when not posted with the [img] in a messageboard.. better an url or a clickable thumb :P

The Porsche's bodywork was damaged on saturday after kissing the armco and tires at Scheivlak (fast corner). The team did a great job fixing it for the race of sunday.

Here's another one with a Competition Viper at the circuit of Zolder.

Yes it's a stream, use the 'open url' function of your mediaplayer.
