Nice proof pic!

T-Bird's caption for his proof pic made me LOL. Have a look at his MN12 in the forum.

Hey really like your car, I test drove a WRX like yours before I bought my Z3 last year. The only trouble with US scoob WRXs are the shit wheels they fit as stock but you've sorted that out with some very nice rims!! They look great.

thanks for the nice words everyone! :D :D i really appreciate it

as far as video, i wanted to make a video mostly in part because this exhaust at full throttle is really loud and very money! :) you can hear the turbo whine.

sure if i can find a good spot. places to do a clean launch are kinda hard to come by in SF unless you wanna hit someone or get a reckless driving ticket.

im going down to the historics on thursday, im sure ill find something.

oh come on My cousin never had any trouble dickin around in the SF area before he moved to Sacramento, but he still goes down to San Fran every once in a while flyin' down the Highways on his bikes and his cars actually.

he's never got a ticket either though and he's 22 now LA is the worst see out here it's nice because I can get to 80 going to school everyday without a worry you gotta love flat long straight roads with fields, that and highways where the traffic flow is 70mph average in a 55 you can pass a cop at 70 and they don't give a shit most of the time.

IgotWRXed
08-10-2004, 12:55 AM
yeah see ive gotten a speeding ticket going 80 in a 65. no bullshit.

where in LA? i go to school there

LA is breaking down on all that showing off with your car and streetracing etc...
Hell they have a law where 2 cars accelerating to the speed limit at a rapid pace next to eachother can be considered drag racing and I know there are parts of some of the streets where Cruising is against the law at certain times of the day and if a cop sees you twice going the same direction within a given time you can get a ticket. now that is stupid as hell. Rapid peelouts and rolling burnouts are pretty much illegal in most places.

And I was talking about here in Illinois about my driving.

IgotWRXed
08-10-2004, 01:09 AM
yeah as far as the "cruising" goes that on Sunset Blvd. because people "cruise" for hookers there and thats to cut down on prostitution. no fooling.

as far as rapid peelouts and rolling burnouts, good. if i saw someone doing a rolling burnout at an intersection i would hope that moron got tagged too.

Even if there is noone else around? like at 1AM
I see nothing wrong with a friendly Burnout or slamming on the gas and squeeling the tires late at night hell my tires squeel sometimes when I hit the gas half throttle in the middle of the day.

well ive had a friend be the victim of a wreckless driver. he didnt die, but it wasnt pretty.

just in general im not really for driving on the street in a manner that is intended for the track. freeway stuff is different, but anything city/residential is a no-no.

dont want to step on any toes, just what i believe.

Nice Subaru :D :D not so sure if I like it in its wingless form :D but sure original :D

As for the custom shot, if you could take one with the owner manual it would be better for the registry :D

Very nice, colour suits the car IMO, the wingless looks good to me a bit more stealthy  than the huge wings on other scoobys and evo's Oh and i can't help but notice the little mini in the background of one of the pics

I got a damn ticket the first month I was here, 88 in a 60 on I-30. Luckily I had no US license at the time so I got no points. Cost me 200 bucks though.

Was I in the Z3, you ask? Nope, a Chevy Silverado pick up bringing some stuff hoem from Wal Mart and Best Buy!!!

IT was like the dodge magnum TV commercial, "what have you got in there? an amp, two pieces of 4 x 2, a TV, a PS2, ironing board"....LOL

on my block alone i think we have 2 older minis and one brand new one.

haha sorry to hear that TransAm. honestly, after a while, the CHP just beats you down so much that speeding isnt fun anymore. :( damn them for doing their jobs!

I am looking for a used WRX that hasnt been beaten on. I agree, they dont look as sporty without the rear spoiler. The turbo lag i have read in magazines is aweful. If i can find one, there had better be a way to get less turbo lag. Not a big fan of lag.....

GO the Silver rexies! Silver looks very clean and with "bookshelf" wing and nice simple mags, gives your car that clean understated look :)

Too many idiots simply defile WRXs :?

thanks :)

see thats what i was going for, clean. no wing, debadged the rear, doubtful ill go with a body kit, etc.. i do want to get rid of those horrid orange lightbulbs in the headlights. nothin too crazy :)

nice mods, keep it sleepin dude surprise is the best battle tactic lol!! (says he with a bright orange WS6)

IgotWRXed
08-26-2004, 03:23 AM
lol yea you arent exactly inconspicuous are you  altho, the WS6 could be seaweed green and it would still be super gnarly :)

i dunno, my car has only one cat so it isnt exactly quiet, the borla doesnt help either, there goes the surprise tactic  o well, if i wanted quiet id get rid of my 1000watt 12

a large part of the lag is a result of the catalytic converter directly in front of the turbo. an uppipe deletes that cat and makes it a straight pipe. you get boost about 500-700rpm sooner.

lag is inevitable tho on a 2.0l turbo, but with some mods, it gets pretty minimal. just from a standstill punch, the car spools VERY quickly. i paid $550 for an uppipe/downpipe combo and got 25hp at the wheels! none of this crank stuff. boost came on quicker thanks to the uppipe, and i had more topend thanks to the downpipe.

wrx = best bang for your buck.

hmmmm, don't tempt me into modding my car

As for the lag issue, you get use to it and it isn't that big of a deal, you just have to drive in such a way to mimise it, when you don't want it.

The car has essentially two personalities,
lag range; I find good because the dull response is good for normal driving, very economical, comfortable and quiet.-Its a great car for long distances.

Turbo engauged, as we all know it goes bezerk :) But you wouldn't want to drive like that all the time, just when you want o have fun :)

wrx = best bang for your buck.
Damn straight, I really don't see a car that I'd say is superior in the less than $150K range, except a STI perhaps ;)

Good looking car man. I like how you're keeping it simple and clean. Not really feeling the "i" badge on the front or the rims though. I would have gone with the pink STI style Subaru badge and some Advan RGs (but those are really expensive lol). Good plan not going with a spoiler/ricer wing.
