Nothing compared to what our great TT is about to upload but at least the weather was quite nice for the trip. Nice encounter with a hummer... notice the reflection of the Diablo in its paintwork...when we were parked next to it there was hardly any room left for other cars at the junction.

Chaos in 1983!
08-06-2004, 02:24 PM
Very nice pics Jabba....I'm sure the dude in the Hummer felt pretty important..."a guy ina Diablo taking pics of my H2!"...should've been the other way around hahaha
oh and that 360CS is to die for...lovely!
Jabba
08-06-2004, 02:40 PM
Some very nice pics there jabba, but you really shouldnt have taken those pics of that H2.
You probably made the owner very prowd, he will be talking about it saying stuff like "YEAH MY CAR IS SO COOL, EVEN DIABLO OWNERS TAKES PICS OF IT" and we really dont need to encourage people to buy more of those boxes.....
other than that the Diablo looks bad ass with those 360`s in the background, I feel sorry for that sexy little Dino all crumped in there....... :(
do you know the prize on that Ferrari bike?
Edit: chaos beat me to it.....
Yes I understand what you are saying...my sister in particular doesn't understand the need for pictures of say a car that I have anyway...but I think as TT says...you can never have enough pictures of any car....I know I had to make myself look like an idiot to get the hummer picture...but it was just such a rare opportunity...I couldn't help it...and I was doing it all for JW of course.

the Ferrari bikes are like $2500 usd without the stand and like $500 for the stand.
atleast that's what the dealer told me he might have been wrong.

niceee, was your 355 just done being serviced?
T-bird i think those bikes are made out of carbon fiber that why they are so much
T-Bird
08-06-2004, 03:09 PM
they are made of CF I wasn't saying they were too expensive for what they are, they are hand painted and assembled and the suspension is really cool, the wheels are pretty sweet too. The one I saw was red.
My Cousin does triathlons and bike races her bike was like $3500 so the Ferrari is a bargain.

wow...what a nice little collection of ferraris, as good as some of the dealers in Los Angeles. Jabba, I never noticed this about the Diablo roadster, but does the roof stow above the engine when not in use? That's quite an elegant solution if that's the case.
Even though the 360 isn't as good to look at as the 355, IMO its still Stunning form the rear 3/4. Great pictures!

Dang, i just wanna know what the maranello garage's budgets on polish and polishers are!!! All those cars are sooooo shiny!!!!!
Diablo's looking pimping as usual, no CSL's there to tempt you unfortunately!
U have to go far to ferrari uk? Or are they in heartfordshire too?!?! One of my friends lives there, must make a trip up via the garages!!!!!!
Dang it's pretty sad to see Ferrari garages in a big and relatively wealthy city as London with such small stock in their showrooms :( but still quite nice anyway :) Afterall even an M3 is a nice car hell!
Thanks for the new pics!

I think it our economic climate...our banks have just put the interest rate up for the fifth time this year I think...and the dealers don't want to be caught with loads of stock that no one wants to spend money on buying.

Of course we can understand that, but it's also true that with less stock, potential buyers are less drawn into dealership just to take a look around...

Its around 7-8 grand  I asked the price at the dealer 2 years ago and it was 11 000CAD
To me it reminds me of some one going to pick up their kid from day camp.

Jabba, if youare looking for a CSL then check here every now and then:
http://www.motorhousecars.com
they had a CSL not that long ago, and they always have a porsche or two, or how about a Continental GT sir?
The garage is just 10 minutes walk away from where i live - it's always worth a quick glare inside whenever i go past on the bike.
Also "round my way" in sunny bradford is this place:

Very nice pics Jabba, The diablo looks from it's best from the side IMO!
It's a very different design to those ferrari's but no doubt it still stands out from the crowd. It's beauty & the beast into one!
A black Quattroporte is simply sublime IMO! I wonder how much they would ask for that bike. That way I could tell to my friends that I drive a 2004 Ferrari :P

Nice pics, hey jabba did you ever thought about buying an older Ferrari or Lamborghini? like that Dino or a Miura?
Jabba
08-17-2004, 04:31 AM
Now I have a bit more space to keep some more cars I would truly love to own a Miura...or even a countach for that matter...they both appeal to me more than the murcielago but the gallardo is damn nice...then we have project Ferrari F50 that sadly keeps getting raped with the never ending home "improvements"

not that we'd be getting an f50 here, but i feel that one... we've increased our property value over 100,000 usd over the last year... but the cost is lots of time... and i think its safe to say we spent about 12-15,000...

Heheh I see...I think a Miura would definetely complement your garage very well, more than a countach i'd say...I don't know for how much they go for these days.... :)
A Miura alone will be "the perfect garage" :D

08-17-2004, 12:57 PM
not bad, I thought they'd be more expensive, not that it's cheap by any means for a car that old, but it's not that far away from a lifetime of saving heheh
you can always get both the F50 and the Miura/Countach at the same time...heheh

Definetely, makes it more enjoyable once you achieve it.
by the way what maintenance and minor repairs were done to the Ferrari?
Jabba
08-17-2004, 01:32 PM
Just the annual service, fixed a blown fuse behind the stereo head unit, MOT, interior light...
Nothing major...just niggly stuff really. Still came to £797 though.
fedezyl
08-17-2004, 01:37 PM
hehe 797 pounds...that's a Ferrari repair price....that's half of what i'm paying to get my Alfa's body totally rebuilt....it's amazing the price difference we get between here and Europe...specially the U.K. ...I guess that's a good thing when you get paid in U.S. dollars hehhe
Considering my last service for the 320i (with not even 60k km on the clock) costed 500+ GBP... I'd say that's very cheap for a Ferrari... and no, my car was perfectly fine :?
Jabba
08-17-2004, 01:46 PM
Considering my last service for the 320i (with not even 60k km on the clock) costed 500+ GBP... I'd say that's very cheap for a Ferrari... and no, my car was perfectly fine :?
Yep it would have been more like £1500 at a main Ferrari dealer.
And mine would have been more like 200 if not done at a main BMW dealer
Well - BMW, Audi, Mercedes (not to mention Ferrari and Lambo) are notoriusly expensive to service... :)
There is no excuse for a commuter car to have a $750 service bill.
Service should be oil/plugs/filters/belts at the worst. What did they have to replace TT?
fedezyl
08-17-2004, 01:47 PM
wow 500+ pounds...what a rip off...I remember getting my car serviced in the U.S. also being a rip off...I guess labour is pretty high over there...
Yes, around 60% was labor in my case :?
fedezyl
08-17-2004, 01:54 PM
wow!!
what a rip off! considering I can usually arange the bill with my mechanic with a bottle of wine or grappa or he just charges me dirt cheap....on the other hand...my mom's scenic gets serviced at the main dealer and the difference in service is huge....there are many amateurs around here that are used to fixing old fiat uno's and other old cars, that when they get their hands on a newer car like my mom's they usually make a mess of it
TT - what did they do? ANd what was the labour rate?
Over here, a scheduled maintenance service is either very low or no cost while under warranty - or a fixed %75 or $125 or such for a 60,000 mile service etc.
One needs to be very sure to NOT let the garage trick you into "We know you came in for $75 plug and filter change, but we noticed your headlight fluid was low and we had to adjust your thrust capacitor and deflux you head bolts.
Oh and the A/C unit needs a blowjob - that will be $768.00 - Thank You."
Well, the list is long, I could scan the papers (two pages) but it's in french and no idea where I put it anyway :D
But you know, all the usual stupid things like fixing a little light here, a piece of plastic on the belt there, an indicator light, oil levels and such... labour rate is something like 80 USD / hour in most main garages.
And be sure, I told them what NOT to do or else it would have been even more I fear :?

Yeah, im sick of overpriced service bills, im trying to find time at the moment to fit my new discs and pads all round, and a new drop link on my front suspension (hopefully should cure annoying clunking!), then sending the car off for its 50k 'service' where nothing extra should need doing and i'll still get the book stamped!

i saw a yellow one yesterday! I had sex with it, but then the light turned green and he got ont he highway and i was all the way across the street going the opposite way. I did get to hear alittle bit of its roar.
also the Z3 is getting Inspection 1 right now, and i think an oil change, ill ask when i pick it up. Thankfully its under my bros extended 100k mile warranty.
