I have this stupid paper I'm writing for my Brakes specialization class and I wanted some feedback as to first:
What kind of Calipers does your car have?
-fixed
-sliding
what do you think are better?

Second:
does your car have ABS?
was it an option when you got the car?

the car has sliding calipers and ABS came standard (pretty sure on that)

Lotus has 4 piston AP racing calipers and abs.

My golf GTi has single piston type and abs.

What is best? Depends what your criteria is. If you mean braking performance, then the AP brakes are awesome. If you are VW group then best probably means most performance for least money, in which case the single piston jobbies my golf has are perfect.

Well, monoblocks are stiffer so I guess that makes them better, even though they are more expensive. I particularly like the Stoptech fourpots on a friends Impreza, they're open monoblocks similar to Porsche/Brembos, but decently corrosion restistant so they demand less attention.

The calipers on the RS2 are particularly bad - they require frequent cleaning, or they will perish in a single wionter of salty slush driving. See that a lot where I live...
