i have ridden a yamaha YZF-600r, a Yamaha Warrior, Hayabusa 1300, and a honda CBR 1000, the yzf-600r was awesome, i liked it, but the hayabusa and all that power....dear lord...if i owned one of them i would lower my life expectancy by half =)

The Ducati 996. It's beautiful, and it sounds awesome, and it can defenetly go fast. I dont know anything about bikes but I loved the 996 the first time I've seen it.

just for pure power and brute speed, i'd go with the Suzuki Hayabusa.. any super sport would make me a happy person (although i have a preference for the gixxers)

My favorite bike is is the Ducati 996 because of its sound. No other bike has this sound, because Ducati is the only one with a desmodromic valve steering (that means the valves are opened and closed by levers and not closed by valve springs like in normal bikes).

For me the best bike ever made is de Ducati 998. It's absolutely incredible its sound and for me it's a very very beautiful bike. I was recently in Ducati's factory and I saw the 996 Matrix Reloaded edition, it is also a great bike!

Suzuki Haybusa WAS the fastest production bike in the world but now the title ahs been officially taken away by the Jet Bike 'Y2K' ....the one with a helicopter jet engine and it is in production now

Anyways, as for the main question now......i love speed ...so my fav bike is the Suzuki Hayabusa ....God that bike is quick n fast .....yes it sure is ugly but who cares when u can be the fastest among other bikers hehe :D

It has to be the MV Agusta SPR. This bike is sex on wheels. Sadly, it cost an arm and a leg.

My favorite bike that I can realistically afford and am thinking about picking up in March is the new '04 R1.

Most interesting bike.... well, as in cars, that depends a lot on what you are looking for in it....
For commuting/driving around town the 600 are definetly better suited in my opinion; I liked the CBR F4 a lot, but I felt in love with the YZF600R (The ThunderCat, *not* the R6) even if it's less powerful and heavier... it's just *so* easy to live it.
For easy rides with SO (Significant Other) in the back, I found the Fazer to be very good machine, confortable as hell for both of us and still 140+ hp available for some fun.
Now, for knee-craping-cannyons-carving-rubber-burning-sheer-power stuff, well, the 2003 GSX-R 1000 is just the *king*. I tried the 2001 too, but the 2003 is just..... brutal. A friend of mine offered it to me for a ride but after a short trtip to the local gas station I handed it back... And yes, the Hayabusa will reach a higher top speed, but by the time it does it, the 1000 will be out of sight, specially in twisty roads.
I don't even consider Ducs and Augustas as I'll never spend US$16,000+ on a 2 wheels vehicles.
Cruisers and choppers a just crap for me, but many like 'em, they have "feeling" they say....

Just my 0.02...

My favorite bike is the Ducati 996, sweet looking. But, I love my Honda CBR 600RR. To me the Ducati are too expensive and are not cheap to maintain. So, I will stick with my Hondas.

Same here. A Ducati in motorbikes is like a Lambo amongst cars. I'd like to have a black or red 996.

Well, I'm not a biker myself, but my favorites are Ducatis. The ones i like best is the 916 / 996.
Definitely my favorites in the World Superbike Championship, especially when they were driven by Carl Fogarty.

I agree, my favorite is the Ducatti 996 for pure beauty. I didn't like the dry clutch that it uses though, but if I had to have a bike, I could certainly learn to live with it. :D

Thats gotta be a photoshop, otherwise how the hell is the rear wheel held on, let alone driven!!! Theres no hub or swingarm!?!!?!?
If it is true, ive gotta see the mechanism!
My personal tutor from uni picked up a 996 carl fogarty edition, that was damaged, he got the frame jigged, and rebuilt it himself. It looks smart and sounds awsome!!! Only rides it during the summer tho!!
Sumone else at uni has a 998 in GSE racing colours, wiv the carbon rear cans, that thing sets car alarms off every time it leaves!!! Gotta love it!

the photo above is authentic (as far as the rear wheel)
on the other side of the bike you can see how it works, there is a belt or chain (can't remember) that runs around the rim on the out side. there are no spokes so the wheel has to be designed to be alot stronger that normal. so they probably cost a ton, plus since no one else has them its marketing :D

^^ Yeah, so thats how the wheel is driven, but how the fuck is it held in position!?!?!?! Would have to be some form of rollers on each side of the rim, and have quite a bit of purchase to withstand the weight of the engine. I cant see it. U got ny links to any more pictures?

/\/\ His name is Billy Lane and the bike is real here are some pics: http://lichterphoto.com/m_pages/builder/b_lane/b_lane_main.html he was on the Great Bike Buildoff on Discovery Channel. The wheel is drivin like normal bikes on a chain on one side and is rotated on Ball-bearings if I recall there are good pics at the site. Oh and I love the Ducati 999R and Aprillia RSV Mille's
