Once to make a choise of a front wheel drive hot hatch is difficult....there is a big challenge....the Alfa 147GTA, the former Golf R32, or the future GTI, the Megane RS, the Honda Civic Type R, the Seat Leon Cupra R, the Renault Clio RS, the 206 GTI 180 bhp...........id like to get your opinion about your most desirable car to drive or to own it, and why

In my opinion, i go for the alfa 147 GTA with the manual gearbox, once its the most powerful car so far, and somebody has to be able to notice the increase of power of the car, in addition, the car has a good balanced chassis, a marvellous engine, which transmits good sensations and a good noise, good brakes......

out of those cars you just said id be stuck between the seat leon cupra R and honda civic type R.the megane RS is sure a powerful car and the front is so aggressive but then u get to the back of it and god dam its ugly,i dunno if anyone other than us UK people get this TV advert if not u wont know what im talkin about but no matter how many womens asses that are nice thata re shaken on that advert it wont make the cars rear look nicer, lol

Alfa 147 GTA all the way! even better, go for the Autodelta version with something like 328bhp. The Alfa looks stunning, and the selespeed gearbox is just about the funnest car gadget i've ever experienced. it's a car you'd buy with your heart and not your head, just pure passion 8)

If i was gonna buy one i'd go for the Clio 182 - easily the best handling hot hatch. I'd be tempted by the alfa though ;)

Civic Type-R
Just the right amount of power for a FWD car, solid build quality, VTEC engine and fantastic value

1. Civic TypeR - quite lots of space, great powerful engine, great quality, nice in black with titanium coulored wheels + very cheap
2. Golf R32 german quality, very powerful.. but too expensive
3. Alfa 147GTA but expensive and italian quality wich could ba annoying to go to fix it all the time, even if they say that alfas are much more relyable I still wouldnt beleave it so much. But it is really nice

coorection, uses i-vtec ..
but i would go for civic type R..
even 200hp might not sound like much , but its lightweight backed by honda's super build quality.
the manual gearbox is in an auckward position, but it feels good when it shifts.. i have an older civic hatch , and reaching down wasnt that great.. but the new one is just stunning... and the car is race ready, nice supportive seats, slickest shifter , powerful stopping power, and doesnt look half bad.

Well...I know it's out of production at this point, but I'd take the Focus RS over all of its competitors, especially if you plan on doing any sort of track driving. It's a real giant killer.

Alfa GTA no need to say more

I'd choose the R32 (german quality) or the GTA ('cause it's beautiful and ... italian) :|

but these things cost as much as wrx STI and lander evo. .and weigh a ton.. the gti is a great platform, but it has just gained too much weight... civic type r is nice and simple..

I think the R32 is Quattro but I'm not sure. Indeed it's very expensive but when we love it ...
The Civic Type R is maybe too agressive if you're not everyday on the track, can be painful

Did anyone read the Focus RS vs Murcielago in i think it was EVO?

The focus probably has the best hot hatch chassis and i retract my clio 182 suggestion, i'd go for the RS - much more rarer too, the prices are likely to go up in the coming years for a second hand model

thats what i mean.although the alfa and R32 are great cars, they cost way to much compared to the other hatchbacks.and for a car that is 16k brand new and u can pick them up second hand for between 10-14k,thats why the civic type R is the best hot hatch of this day.honda which means strong,200hp which is quite enough in a hatchback thats FWD.

well the one in that article was the Focus RS8 which is a one off car unlike the RS so I wouldn't go racing an RS against a Murcielago anytime soon.

Nope, was definately the regular RS, ill try and find it

EDIT: Sorry, it was in autocar not evo. They did a road trip across europe with the two and basically the RS won. I'll try find the article somewhere on the net
