I just watched the recent BM video and Gan-san tested the CGT at Suzuka. He ran a slow test lap(possibly multpile laps) and then did a final flat out lap. He pulled a 2 min 28 something and I was wondering if anyone had any lap times from other cars?
I know Sport Auto France did that test with Mclaren F1, F50 and F40. Does anyone have that?

I know that the Ferrari F50 has made there a time attack, with fairly hot weather (2:29.85), and timed 2:26.something in a battle, with ideal conditions of temperature and humidity. The 2:28 time is a bit slow for a CGT, but it's understandable, because:
1- Gan-San was experienced with the F50 when he tested it, but it's the first time he drives a CGT
2- It's summer and it's very hot in Japan, and that affects the lap time of the CGT.
I also know times for other cars:
NSX-R - 2:33
Ferrari F355 - 2:32
Ferrari 550 Maranello - 2:37
Lamborghini Diablo SV - 2:31
Porsche 993 GT2 - 2:29
Ferrari F40 - 2:25 (cheated in the last corner  )

Oh, and the Nissan R34 Skyline tuned by Mine's lapped Suzuka in 2:18.

Mh, I don't know if he was pulling the car to the limit....it's HIS OWN car so maybe this time he drove a little less fast, or maybe it was too new...

Oh yeah, I just watched that section again and it seems they mention the F50's time for 2000. I am sure in a flat out lap after he is used to the car he can beat that time, but still it says a lot for the F50 especially since they even mentioned that time specifically.
I don't know Japanese though, so at the same time they could have been explaining any number of issues or reasons about the lap.
I really hope BM is going for an Enzo, CGT, SLR comparison at some point.

Sorry but i never read that Sport Auto France did that test with a Mclaren F1 a F50 or a F40, do you have more informations because i have them all for some years now and i don't think that i ever read that.
For the F50 time, first it wasn't as good as the F40 during the same race because he didn't have to push it father as he took enough advance on the F40 because i am sure he could have gone faster than the F40. Secondly, this F50 (Superbattle 2000) had a MS racing exhaus (almost free from the noise it made) and i am sure it wasn't stock from the time they posted on the 400 m (1/4 mile) : 11.1 s !!!! So the F50 certainly had more than the "normal" 520 bhp, i think it had at least 550.

I want to see that video, where is it???????? :|
With some luck, searching for Ring Mini on the net you should end up finding the video. i'm pretty sure it is still hosted somewhere...

The F50 in that race had a tubi, but I believe that was the only mod. The F40 got a better lap time because the driver skipped the final chicane.
Those quarter mile times were typos.

It wasn't a Tubi, it was an MS RACING exhaust like said Yg60m. Think about this: change your Enzo and you'll gain 60bhp. Think even about the lightness of the new exhaust (maybe 50 or more kg....)

Sorry, I'm not sure why I said Tubi, guess just reflex/wishful thinking, but I wasn't trying to disagree, I actually forgot he had mentioned the specific exhaust when I was responding. There was something wrong with the timing that day though. The F40 pulled an 11.2 or 11.3 the same day.
i'm not sure if it was J-San or not, but I'm pretty sure someone who has a bunch of the videos told me matter a factly there was either a timing error or typo for that test.
Anyway, I know the CGT can do much better. It can beat the current GT2 at the ring by almost 20 seconds. I think it can certainly beat the old 99 GT2 by more than a second at Suzuka.

Yes, those 0-400m for the F50 and F40 were typos. That F50 was fully stock except the exaust and rims.
About the CGT, I'm sure it can go much faster, it seems that Gan-San was complaining about the tires.

You always seem to be full of useful information, thanks.

Im not sure weather you can compare the Enzo to the SLR and The CGT
first the ezo costs much more and can do 220mph and 0-60 in 3.3 compared to the SLR and CGT's 208mph and 0-60 in 3.8

The SLR I admit is perhaps not right for this comparison, but the CGT and Enzo are certainly perfect in terms of a competition. In just about every test the Enzo does seem to have a significant objective stat advantage, but that doesn't mean it will win at the track.
There was already one track test that now appears to be a little odd due to some weird braking distances and choice of track, but even though they downplayed it because it wasn't an ideal test the CGT did a faster lap.
