No longer to be confused...the Mini is only limited to four gigabytes of space. and the price range is...if not close but the same as a 15 gig ipod. so i would highly recommend buying the 15 gig instead.

The mini is very stylish , but i think i would get a 15 gig normal one , but also i think 4gb is enug

Yes indeed its more stylish...but for the price...I would rather much get the 15 gig. I bet you agree with me on that.

Anything north of 5GB's too big already. I also like the smaller size of the mini. It's comparable to a SE T630 in size. I gave my bro and dad 15 & 40GB respectively and they havent filled any of them yet.

According to Newsweek Jobs will unveil the new iPod on the 19th.

BTW what're your thoughts on the BMW/iPod link?

I heard about that BMW/iPod ordeal. Seems to be a good idea...maybe it will evolve to more cars. =] "good safety"...

btw...I'd still go with the 15gig. :D

Get the regular; my friend got the mini and it skips like crazy, is not a whole lot cheaper, and comes in fruity colors. I have the regular, and am very happy with it.

WTF are you supposed to do with it - besides use it as a vehicle to transfer your money from your bank to Steve Jobs bank?

Are people THAT dependant on "music" and shit that they have to have this shit?

XM Satellite radio, iPods - fuckit... you already have MP3 compatible CD player/radios. the walkman and the discman - not to mention good old FREE FM radio...

Just how many fucking music gadgets do y'all need?

:D

And the cover of Newsweek?

WTF does the iPod need to be on the cover of Newsweek for?

Y'all are taking the bait - hook, line and sinker.

Talk about iPod envy. It's as simple as this. You won't get what all the fuss is all about til you've tried one at length.

The 4G iPods will be available in 20GB ($299) & 40GB ($399). The previous (3G) iPods are most definately be offered at a discount. Good opportunity to try one out if you found it too extravegant for the wife not to notice.

Use it as a paper weight?

Nope that's what I use my PC for. The iPod's an invitation to get mugged.

Ahh - I see.. so the iPod is actually a promotion tool for the pro-gun lobby.

Afterall, you will need to be able to fend off the muggers.. :)

Actually, no. You could use the expensive shiny part of the iPod to bash the head in of the assailant. The hard disk inside can sustain the beating.

Seriously though you could use the iPods as a portable hard drives if you want to move (or steal) data around. A few weeks ago the UK Ministry of Defense(?) issued a warning about the evils of the iPod.

iPod batteries cost as much as the iPod so when your battery dies then you lost your iPod

Yes they did and I even posted a thread about it. :D Sounds good about the new storage size for the Ipod Mini. But I would still get the original. Something about it makes me like it more. psh...you're just waiting for the discounted 3 gig mini evoWALO :P

Had a MD before and it was so clunky.

mo portable mp3-players are just rubbish, i can't help it.
Mini-Disc all the way! You can fit a lot of music on'm as you can switch disks, and as easy as an mp3-player with the net-md's.
And a huge pro with those things, if you have some friends that are dj'ing, just put the damn thing into the turntables and record the entire night.
And then we're not even talking about the difference an MD has over MP3 when it comes to audio-quality!

Hmm....who seriously uses MD anymore these days. you know MP3 technology has taken over. :D

i hear you thamar

BUT

- Atrac 3 is low bit rate and so quality on NetMD is the same as MP3
- Therefore to get CD quality you need to record in real time or have a hi-speed (and high cost...) deck
- This means NteMD is not the way for sound quality

I used to have an MD.. until i got an ipod :D I was bored of copying new cd's to MD and making compilations. One thing that was good was the sound quality (you can tell the difference between 256kbps MP3 and 1411KBps CD quality) and battery life. This is not a problem with the iPod becaus 6-8hrs is enuff during the day and i can dock it as soon as i get in :D Even on a long journey 6-8hrs is enough for me because i do not listen to music for that long non-stop :D

But i am pissed atm... i got my iPod for £240 from the USA (£60 saving) andi spent £60 on accesories. Now a 4G iPod is coming (but when :?: ) and i could have got a 40gig model instead of my 20gig. Oh well.. that's how shit is and i am sure i will buy it if i need these new feautres
 :D
