Minimum system requirements just to LOAD Doom 3.

• A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
• 384 megabytes of memory.
• Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
• An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.

Dang...will my GeForce 2MX pull that ?? ;)

I've seen the screenshots and the game looks so photorealistic. I've also read qabout the technology behind it. The graphic designers have made models which have a decent amount of polygons, yet using advanced bump mapping have made them look really nice. The lighting in the game is a masterpiece is bonded into one process together with the geometry to make the engine more eficient. And also basically everything in the game can be damaged, pushed, hit over etc. The interaction with the enviroment is simply amazing.

Gotta invest in a good graphic card. Then I'm off on my killing spree

Other than graphically, I think the game is going to suck. You never know though.

Ive played the game (leaked alpha demo form e3) and the game looks simply awesome and game itself really sets a mood that with the most simple of things u get realy scared.
But the game also has a downside u need a really nice machine to run it, i have the minimum system requirements pc (athlon 1600,120gb@7200,geforce3) and i was getting 5 to 7 fps, max (looking at a dark corner) 20fps
PS:u can get the leaked demo of kazaa or limewire

First Person Shooters are short on plot/story and heavy on multiplayer action. I hope this replaces the CounterStrike/Ragnarok craze here.

Plus don't forgett about Quake 4 when they make one, as well as future games like UT2005/2006.

Which would use Unreal 3 Engine and another game called Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl.

Holy crap...my machine is exactly the minimum requirement......I guess I am not playing this game then. The graphics does look very very nice tho.

Well - Doom and Quake have always required the most potent system available to be playable.

If it wasn't for Quake1/2/3 I would never have bought a Voodoo1/2/3 then Geforce series video cards over the last 8 years... ;)

On my setup I'll be watching a slide-show, not playing a game. I have only 256MB DDr RAM (266MHz), not to mention my shitty videocard.

However this game will be a very good benchmark. Can't wait for the first tests. And I wonder how it compares to the upcomin Half Life 2. Annd if ya wanna see some more cool graphics then check ut "Farcry"... simply awesome :D

After playing a game like Farcry, DOOM3 is going to have to pull something out of it ass to compete with it game-play wise.

Doom 1 was amazing when it first came out.

Ive read great reviews for Doom 3, but my computer simply isnt compatible for it. I still use the Voodoo 3000 card :?

What is everyones spec because I want to know, then I could think how well it will run on there PC.

I am ok for running the game I hope to get 30 frames if I am lucky, or maybe 25/20 frames per sec.
