LOOKING FOR A MODERATOR *** SCUDERIA FERRARI SECTION ***

The hunt is on to find a moderator for one of the greatest and most exciting sections there will ever be on JW...."SCUDERIA FERRARI"

If you think you can run a section worthy of arguably the greatest name in automotive history and would like to be considered for the job then add your name below.

We will take the first ten serious applicants then run a poll to decide which three will each have a month to run the section before running another poll to find out who will be the eventual moderator for the section.

It would help us make the correct decision on who is and who is not a serious applicant by stating your ideas and future plans for the section when applying for the position.

One of the tests I would like to apply is
- The winner's blood test must indicate a trace amount of 104 octane fuel and the blood colour of choice is Fiorano Red. :wink:

- The winner should be able to say with a straight face and nary a flinch ... In Ferrari We Trust ... Porsche ... Sheesh ... its just a Beetle on steroids (just kidding St. Anger)

- Winner should have a kid/dog/girlfriend(:D) named Enzo

- Anyone having not driven about 125 mph (200 kph) gets disqualified - we dont want no Trabant drivers nominated here

No way in GOD'S HOLY HELL!!! I think it's not in the spirit of Jabbasworld to have an "Import" section of equal level as Lamborghinis or Porsches and Ferraris. AND stop using the word "Import," that can mean any car that's not from where you're living. In US, Ferraris and Lambos are also imports, not just vulgar Japanese cars.

I don't know if he wants to be a moderator but according to stradale's posts I've read I think he has great knowledge about Ferrari, even in the classic cars. The only thing to know is if he wants to apply for this "job".

i for one think bobafett is a better choice than me simply because he has the experience... and the car. the question is does he have the time or even wish to do this.. i'm not sure he even knows i've nominated him.... his insight would prove invaluable and his super car drives are great!

i propose something slightly different....

if boba doesnt want to/doesnt have time to be moderator i would LOVE to have the position and be a moderator of a new ferrari section....

obviously im getting ahead of myself, but i think perhaps a moderator and co-moderator or just 2 moderators would be a good idea (ala jabba and TT).

TT is an admin :D and as an admin, moderators everywhere :D

Of course the moderator that will be in charge won't be "alone". He will just be the one that should try to provide tons of pics, infos and such.. for simple moderating stuff we will always be there as we are in the other sections ;)

While I'd personaly love to take up this position myself, I feel that Aliendb7 is most qualified due to his recent contributions to the tifosi in all of us.

That being said, if he doesnt want it let me know. I'm trying to get in good with the local ferrari club and still looking to find the money for a 308. I should have some interesting insights and soures on things. I certainly do waste most of my money on ferrari pariphenalia. lol

there is one, turns out several models of the kia/hyundia cars use the vernerable 2 liter mitsubishi motor found in eclipses, and dodge avengers and older neons, which means theres actually a parts market taht works for then lol

a media section- tons of pics, vids anything we can all oogle at...

ferrari f1 section- racing is a strong part of ferrari and any true ferrari section should post news or advancments as they are made known....

ferrari memerobilia- fans post pics of their ferrari memerobilia such as flags, race stubs, models, a life size replica of michael shumacher's helmet (i wish) etc....

ferrari events- any news of ferrari events via ferrari owners club or ferrari club of america can be easily found in one place.....this section of the ferrari forum....

ferrari technology- basically anything that has to do with the cars themselves

i guess thats a good start.... let me know what you guys think! :D

I like your ideas ... if you have resources to get all that info and can handle updating the section all time , then you have a good chance .

Stradale just means "road" in italian, so Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale means "Ferrari 360 Challenge Road-version" and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale means "Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Road-version" Like Porsche GT1 Strassenversion, which means Porsche GT1 Roadversion, quite literally.

First of all, thanks very much for all the votes of confidence. I'm really flattered. :oops: It's very nice to know my contribution is appreciated. It also makes writing this post much harder.

Just before logging out on tuesday I saw this thread had been posted and I have had a chance to think about it already. I have decided not to step up to the plate.
Firstly because my role on this board is mainly that of the commentator, rather than the hunter and scourer. The last two qualities are very important for a moderator of a section like this one.
Secondly because of my personal situation. JW costs me way too much time as it is, not meaning I don't like spending time here - quite the opposite. I'm hoping to get a job real soon and then I'm going to be terribly busy. I'd be online a fraction of the time I am now, if even online at all.

I do think this forum needs a Ferrari section, BTW. Surely Porsche, Lamborghini and American Mustle can't have one without Ferrari having one. As for moderators for this section I would support SFDMALEX, Yann and Dan (bobafett). I will certainly try to keep up my role as commentator and remain active for as long as I can.

PS: I chose this nick because 'stradale's are my favourite sort of car. Italian cars with racing technology and pedigree, but strictly streetversions. Mainly because cars without huge wings and stickers look much better IMO. So it refers as much to a Tipo 33 stradale as it does to a 360 Challenge Stradale or a Lancia 037 Stradale or a Ferrari 250 GT SWB Stradale etc. etc.

PPS: I don't remember who it was that suggested Maserati should be in this section as well, but I strongly disagree. Maserati is not Ferrari and it would not do justice to the wonderful marque Maserati is to be crammed in the same section with Ferrari.

Initially my thoughts when you first mentioned this a while back were not to go for it as i'd be sure there was more than a few highly rated contenders for this post, but as it is, there seems to be a lack of people interested.

I know I am in the running for the F1 forum, but to be honest sameerrao has vast knowledge and toronto has great enthusiasm and is a loyal follower of F1. Both of these candidates would be more than ideal for the F1 job compared with me (not saying i don't want the job, i'd love it but i think these two would make better mods)

As for the ferrari mod, as i have a love for supercars, i cant help but adore ferraris. Although my top marque views maybe more "rounded" than other ferrari nuts, I have always loved ferraris; mostly for the heritage, the curves and the sound ;)

Obviously I can't be applying for both mod positions, and as it stands I would prefer the F1 mod, but i feel this would be less suited to the forum as they're are two outstanding candidates up for the F1 forum but hardly any up for this. (no offence intended for anyone whos applied :D)

But if i were to go for this post, my plan would be as follows:

Ferrari News

This would contain all rumours and news, official or otherwise to do with or related to ferrari.

Ferrari Tech

This section would be where posts on any technical aspects to ferraris new and old would be placed. Discussions on gearbox's, engines, aerodynamics, and generally what makes a ferrari.

Ferrari History

Would contain all information to do with ferraris history. Both road going and race cars, the people who have worked for ferrari, the legends, the myths etc

Ferrari F1

All CURRENT F1 articles, news, facts n figures F1 posts will be made here. Current being within the past few months.

Modern Ferraris

Discussions on current production ferraris and those produced within the last 20 years or so.

Classic Ferraris

Discussions on ferraris from the first, up to those produced around 20 years ago. Maybe tips on buying and genaral running of these beasts.

I propose all of these sections are sub forums (if thats possible) as i plan to do with the F1 section.

As i said I cant run for two mods, but this is just an idea if no one can be found.

I am disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm for this post

I think many of you want the ferrari mod post but don't believe that you are qualified enough for various reasons. Maybe the Ferrari name is a wee bit intimidating and you think the expectations are high. But I think many of you are well qualified for this post. Just go for it. Yann and some of the others - stop putting yourself down

You dont need to own a Ferrari or know the exact displacement of a 250 GTO to qualify here - (though it might help :wink: ).

A genuine level of enthusiasm for all things Ferrari and the ability to generate enthusiam in this sub-forum from its members is all that's required.

I am sure all the JWites will help you make this section successful with contributions as Ferrari is dear to all of us.

Ill do it. I have quite a few sources to get the information from, and Ill will fight for Ferrari against any other manufacturer in an argument. You can find one against porsche some were on this forum. If I had a camera I would take some pictures just to show you how much love I have for Ferrari.

I have 9 Ferrari posters in my little bedroom. My desktop is a 360 at the ring, I have Ferrari calone, ferrari shoes, tshirts and hats. I dont not get a car game if it doesnt have Ferraris in it. In my sims I only race Ferraris. I rarely buy a magazine if it doesnt have anything about Ferraris in it.

So count me in. :D I would be honoured.

Yes it has been very disappointing indeed especially considering the amount of people that have complained to me about the lack of a dedicated Ferrari section.

You can bet you life though the minute we appoint someone they will be screaming their heads off complaining that they were never chosen.

ah well...no one else cept mindgam and myself have really put any effort in making a case for their name.... i would think this post would be crawling with people throwing ideas here and there.... so far were the only 2 that have actually brought our ideas to the table.... how the hell are jabba and TT gonna chose anyone if no one steps forward and makes a case for themselves??? its almost like no one is taking this post that serious... or they are too scared of ferrari... i dunno!?!? anyways sorry for my ranting, but it does seem strange that no one wants this privelage... i mean i dont think there are a lack of ferrari fans here!

yea the ideas you had mentioned were basically the same thing i had written a few pages back....not that repeating eachother is bad (shows we all have similar ideas for the section).... but that wasnt my point... its more that no one was giving any ideas or anything...but hopfully now people will...

A combination of caps8419's and mindgam3's idea for the subsections with SFDMALEX's paraphernalia subsection would sounds very complete to me. That would pretty much cover everything on Ferrari.

I agree with stradale about the combination of ideas....as for the mod...since stradale can´t do it...I see no problem in SFDMALEX doing the job...I am also a Ferrari freak...but I´m sure I woulnd´t have the time to mod the section properly...

That is the point , most of us would love to make such a contribution to JW , but someone has to admit his limitations of time and knowledge or sources for the sectyion , i put my hands on fire that SFDMALEX would be the best if he wins it , also i think bobafett would do a very good job as a mod , but he is not THAT much online , maybe he could help SFDMALEX with info since he has very good sources , like a Colaborator for the MOD more than an actual MOD

It is indeed very hard to choose between caps8419, mindgam3, and sfdmalex as each one would make a great moderator for this section I am sure.

We are going to go with sfdmalex however as he has been here since day one (and before that on RF)....I hope caps8419 and mindgam3 can still help out though and make this one of the best sections on JW.
